Having Beckwith ready and installed as the starter would have made a bigger difference than harris starting that game IMO.

...on the SEC network. I didn't watch all of LAU's games last year but it looked to me like LSU would have won that game if Harris had been the QB from the start. Did he just have a good game or is he that much better than the other guy? Who do the LSO fans think should be the #1 QB going into the season? I will also add that he was only a freshmen last year.

We would have won that game, but still lost at Auburn and probably lost to OM and A&M and Arky being tossups. I think if we had played Harris we still would have finished the regular season with 8 wins. Playing Harris could have made him mature faster and be ready for the season, but it could have also broke him like Jarrett Lee. Last season I was and still am of the opinion that the coaches played the qb who they thought gave us the best chance to win and they didn't believe Harris was ready. Playing Harris when he wasn't ready would not have been good IMO but who knows.

Moving forward to this season I think Harris will be the starter from day one. Judging by their play in the spring game Harris definetly outplayed Jennings, but both look much improved in the spring game (I know its only the spring game). Add in Jennings gets arrested and suspended. So I think Harris finally has the lead in the qb competition and the job is his to lose, but Miles will not say that because that is just how Miles rolls.

Was hurt at AU and played sparingly from there on out.
No he wasnt. Only thing he hurt at Auburn was his pride and confidence.

Harris did look good against MSU prevent defense with backups in the line up.

He suffered a high ankle sprain in that game. It bothered him most of the remainder of the season.

Harris will be the real deal imo. Then again with Les running the show you never know if he will even get the opportunity.

Usually, Prevent Defense prevents a team from winning.

State whipped LSU in that game,no denying it.Mullen took his foot off the gas at the end and it almost cost them

Really. He almost snatched a defeat by pulling his guys and going easy too soon. There is no way LSU should have had a shot to win that game at the end if not for that.

I think this year's match will be a much better game. If Harris is the starter, that is.

He looked great considering by the time he played we had cleared the bench...

ETA: I'm talking walkons, not the "1Bs".

For everyone that says watch the auburn game in defending Jennings. Why not watch the New Mexico State game too? Jennings played worse against them than Harris did against auburn. Or really just go watch any game.

Jennings had plenty of performances similar to Harris at auburn, our D just didn't get toasted in those games so people forget. Jennings had under 50 yards at half against UF and we won.

Harris for some reason was just never forgiven for his one "bad" day, while Jennings was forgiven many times. I put bad in quotes bc I don't believe he turned it over he just couldn't move the ball, something Jennings seems to be applauded for even though he still had more turnovers per snap I believe

Mullen leaving "walkons" in until LSU made it a 5 point game was kind of stupid, don't you think? Honestly, I'd be more worried about that if I were a State fan.

"Walkons" is an exaggeration but, I am pretty sure he could hear me screaming at him (Mullen) from 180 miles away. So, YES!
