I believe that they probably pay the regular lunatics to call in. People like Charles from Reeltown, Tammy, Straight Jacket Jim, Phyllis, etc. People tune in to hear these idiots rant.

He's starting to pull some frequent calls from knuckle-dragging Bama fans in Mississippi too. Last Friday he had like 5 callers in a row from Mississippi.

I've heard that as well. I've never watched the show or listened to it but I've heard countless people bitch about it because it makes us look so damn stupid. I hate the fact that they've put him on SECN because now instead of it being a more local to that state of Alabama kinda thing and the rest of us hearing about it regionally, it's far more national and the entire country will laugh at the freakshow. On SECN, the idiots of every fan base will call in and plenty of people will actually think we're all like this because that's what they'll hear or see of us. They already think we're all dumb sister-frickers and Finebaum will reinforce that.
Yeah I know that only applies to the dumbasses of the world buying into stereotypes but given the dumbasses seem to outnumber the non-dumbasses it's annoying to have this shite perpetuated.

It's not just Finebaum's show, it's most sports call-in shows. A lot people who call in have zero substance to backup what they say. They just kick down the door guns a blazin'. Then when they are questioned or the host has some clever rebuttal, they stumble all over themselves. It's a train wreck 90% of the time.

Really disappointed by the SECN so far. Four hours of Finebaum every day? Really? There is nothing fresh, informative or entertaining about that show. It's boring, stupid, and delivered by one of the most ill equipped television personalities in the history of television. Finebaum may know SEC football, but he has a face and demeanor for print, not broadcast. He should go back to writing columns.

Four hours for any tv show is absurd. I have to believe that once they get going they'll have more content and that content will cut into Finebaum big time. I'm all the network is right now is SEC NOW and Finebaum. They'll have to fix that if they want people to tune in beyond game day.
Right now the only things they have that are worth watching are SEC Storied and games. The rest is bleh. SEC Now is just dumbasses trying to sound intelligent - that show really needs work. And of course, Paawl.
The good news is that they'll get better. It's just difficult to put a lot of fresh content out there all at once.

I just went to Kansas City for a few days the other week. It's the most Midwest as frick cowtown in the middle of nowhere. It's truly depressing. The Mizzou fans are ambivalent at best about the SEC....they all miss their rivalries with KState, KU, and OU
