Just three years ago, Mark Richt was a tipped pass away from an NC appearance

Georgia was 11-1, #3 in the nation, and went toe-to-toe with #2 Bama in the most entertaining SECCG of all time.

That last minute drive was clutch, perfectly called and managed, Georgia was about to seize their destiny. Then this happened:

If the tip doesn't happen, or if he had simply not caught the ball Georgia at least has another chance if not the win.

Think they would've beat Notre Dame?

Perfectly called and managed?

Murray went full retard and didn't spike the ball

I think we were over three hundred rushing yards away. It came down to the last play but the Alabama run game is what beat us.

Until that moment, which is what I said. Yes, it was a really great drive and the clock was managed very well with several key plays. Very rarely does any team even get themselves a chance in that situation.

Murray did what he was told to do. It may have been the wrong call but he did exactly what he was told.

What's gay is that we didn't even get into a bcs bowl that year.

it was the right call. I'm not sure why people can't differentiate between a play being called correclty and not executed correctly. One of bama's all world DL (idk who, they all run together at this point) got a hand on it. Sorry we can't foresee that. Then a WR who has been catching balls his whole life caught one he shouldn't, oops.

I mean, even if we did spike it, whose to say it's not tipped then as well? We had them on their heels going backwards and had just driven the whole length of the field. Going for the throat without letting saban draw up a play was absolutely the right call, and we had the matchup on the outside we wanted. It just didn't happen.

Even if he didn't trip he still could have ran it in. Damn, that fricking close.

It was absolutely the right call, not giving Saban a chance to substitute and prepare. Bama D lineman just made a play, sometimes it happens. And yes, Georgia would have destroyed Notre Dame just as bad as Bama did.

"The football gods hate UGA"

I am convinced that Dooley made a deal with the devil for the 1980 season and UGA has been paying for it every since!
