Wow, he skewed that a ton and even completely lied about some of the numbers.

quote:And you guys average 274 while we only allow 100.
So if we are looking at our D vs your O, then Let's look at your strengths.
Rushing 14th in the nation you are. It's what we do on defense extremely well. You average 268 per game, MSU only allows 98.
The averages between the two are almost identical. Auburn & MSU average 5.58 yards per rush. MSU defense allows 2.89 yards per carry. Auburn's allows 2.90.
But, this doesn't account for the teams played. The best rushing team MSU has played is UAB. The best rushing team Auburn has played is Arkansas.
quote:And yet, Prescott still leads Marshall by 53 more plays thru 5 games (206 vs 153).
Again, you are looking at the stats and not taking into account the facts. Things like Dak only playing 2.5 quarters per game up until the SEC. Would his stats be far higher and better if we had played him the whole time? You know it.
In fact, Prescott is responsible for 53.5% of MSU's total offensive plays so far this season. Marshall only 42.1%.
quote:MSU this season.
Kinda misleading. The game was not on the line and I'm not even going to debate that. But feel free to continue to go with our pass defense sucks.
1st half
53% completion percentage
766 yards
12.6 yards per completion
6.7 yards per attempt
2nd half
52.6% completion percentage
875 yards
14.6 yards per completion
7.7 yards per attempt
The big disparity between the two halves comes from TDs & INTs. 2 vs 7 & 6 vs 3. However, the teams are still moving the ball thru the air on your first team defense. Undeniable at this point.
quote:Absolutely. Auburn's top 5 receivers have caught 60 passes on 123 attempts (48.8%). MSU's top 5 receivers have caught 56 passes on 139 attempts (40.3%).
He is. They go 15, 14, 9, 9, 9. Although the last guy with 9 receptions is managing 5.4 YPC. Beast.
Also Auburn is 25, 10, 9, 8, 8. Not really the difference he is implying.

Coaching - Push
Anyone who believes this is dense. One hand, you have a coach that has lead the biggest turnaround in college history and on the other, you have a coach that pumps the shitter into the gutter. This isn't even close.
I get the love for Dak, he's been impressive but I'd still pick Marshall, you can still pick Dak.

I think State is better on offense. Auburn probably has the better defense.

I remember when A&M was a sho-in for the Playoffs and UGA was going to win it all. Same knee jerk reaction from the rant about state.

Having watched us play both:
QB - MSU, by comfortable margin
RB - MSU, but close
WR - AU comfortable
TE - Push - who cares
OL - MSU
DL - MSU
LB - MSU
DB - AU, not big though
K - AU
P - MSU
Coaching - AU, big - Mullen struggles late in games

Yep, usually it is just the Grinders, but this time some other fans are grinding with them. It's always fun to see how quiet this place gets after Auburn beats them like usual. Come back Sunday, it is a wonderful time.

Well, your argument is convincing. That part where you pointed out that there is more to coaching than just head coach was very compelling.
Would you care to elaborate just a touch more?

MSU will be like A&M was a week ago, An overated team with a QB that can pour it on bad teams

Sure
JB Grimes, Ellis Johnson, Charlie Harbison, and Melvin Smith have all coached at Mississippi State. That's not a very impressive lineup right off the bat.

The same staff that took a 3-9 team to the BCSCG last year?
Gotcha
Gotcha

MSU linemen are big and nasty. They'll punch you in the mouth and stomp you in the groin!

HA. I'll take J Rob over any running back in the sec minus Gurley and Yeldon. And I agree AU has some great WR but they do not by any means have a big" advantage because state is stacked as well
