I don't see anyone who can challenge them in the conference unless they have a terrible showing. That bunch is the real deal. Might be Cap's best team. They might honestly win it all this year.

A bad Georgia team beat the 2006-2007 Gator squad with 3 future top 10 picks coming off a national championship.

It's really hard to run the table.

True that but watching Ky play this year, well, they just look like they are in a class by themselves. We shall see.

They will win it all. Already made up my mind that they will be my bracket champion.

Unfortunately 78% of America will also pick. 1st and 2nd round picking will be crucial

This game vs Ucla coming up will say a lot.

1996 UMass and 2012 Kentucky would like a word. It's way too early to declare this UK team better than either of those two teams.

Yeah I forgot their 2011-2012 team was brutal. I stand corrected.

Cal's Memphis team with Rose was also top notch. Still can't believe they choked and didn't win it all.

they will run UCLA out of the gym. Until they play someone that slows the game down and mixes in alot of zone, they arent going to get beat.

This month will likely give us a hint of their potential. They have UCLA this weekend as well as North Carolina in Vegas and Louisville at Louisville the rest of this month. They make it through that unscathed and people will probably start talking.

I don't think they go undefeated. Of course, I hope they drop one or two along the way because carrying that undefeated load is incredibly difficult. But I need to see how they do against a team who can slow them down in the half court and packs the middle.

I agree with you OP. The Kentucky bench could beat the starters on most teams in this conference. Kentucky will probably go undefeated in conference play. Even if they have an off night their bench will bail them out.

We'd have a chance against Uks bench but starters?

I don't see them going undefeated this year simply due to their young age.

They are playing way above the normal development curve for a team throughout the year right now. They have excellent team chemistry and good team defense. they look like a team in late Jan form right now. They are kinda streaky shooting right now too.

Cal is letting the young guys play too much right now to get them experience. They could wear down come middle of Jan-Feb.

We'll lose a random SEC game on the road at some point. We're not losing at home this year.

Theyvare in a class hy themselves talent wise. But they always are. I bet theyve had more 1st round draft picks since cals been there than the rest of the sec and im being 100% serious. Cal should be labeled the recruitingest, talent developingest, worst in game coach of all time. He essentially has an nba team every year and has 1 championship to show for it. The teams that his mercenaries are playing against not only lack even close to the talent. They also have to goto school. Something cals players will never have to worry about. Its ruined college basketball for me.

They are very good but I would be surprised if they didn't drop at least one game this year. While the rest of the SEC doesn't seem to be setting the world on fire Florida and USCe both have teams that could pull off an upset over Kentucky.

I'm pretty sure the Gamecocks, with Renaldo Balkman, beat that same Gator squad twice that year and almost beat them a third time in the conference tourney.

Then in 2009 or 10 I think it was, 2010 probably because I think that was the year we beat #1 Bama in football, #1 Kentucky in basketball and #1 UCLA in baseball ... but Obama had just called Cal and UK to congratulate them on being #1 ... and within 3 hrs we had beaten them behind a super effort by Devan Downey.

So yeah, it's really tough to run the table but I agree with the OP ... UK has one of the better bball teams I can remember seeing in a long time.

We will lose a game or two this year just based on inexperience. We haven't shown a lot of flaws so far but rebounding early in the season was certainly one of them.

Cals teams have always been good in transition but the speed of this years team is insane.
