"Worst game experience ever."

...well at least the field condition wasn't a factor

I hope the SEC drops this bowl and maybe picks up the bowl that will be played next year in the old Cotton Bowl stadium, it would be a lot better.

Surely they wouldn't put a new bowl there... That place is a dump

Place was actually pretty cool after they bowled the whole thing in.

Legion Field is a garbage dump and in the middle of the ghetto. The crime rate is horrible in that neighborhood and no one goes there at night.

For years, the high school playoff games have been played there and this year they moved them and they alternate between University of Alabama and Auburn University. No one wants to go there and I think it's an embarrassment to even show it on TV. They didn't even have the names of the schools in the endzone; they put Birmingham Legion Field. That's the typical crap that goes on in Birmingham.

I heard the city wanted to build a dome a while back, how is that going along?

They still want to but Birmingham is so broke and corrupt, it would be a disaster. The previous city counsel has several members in prison and the mayor was convicted about 2 months ago. I don't live in Birmingham but I work there. Most of the citizens are not in support of the domed stadium but they don't feel there is a need for it. Legion field went down when Bama moved their games back to Tuscaloosa.

Worst game experience ever. We bring 30,000 fans to the crappiest bowl in the country -- and forget to bring the team.

Sounds like the SECCG, except I paid $400 for the ticket.

I think the SEC should drop this bowl and make the New Orleans Bowl their new lower level bowl. I heard they were going to try to get us in that bowl if we had went 6-6.

I would hate to see Birmingham lose the revenue but I just think the field is embarrassing. The first poster who talked about having to walk by burnt out and falling down structures is right. It looks like ghetto cause it is. They can't fix up the stadium cause they don't have the money. I say move it.
