Serious question, what did they do with the belt after the game? Did they, hoping no one would notice, have some ballboy or graduate assistant wrap some towels around it and casually sneak it off the field and into the locker room? Did they leave it on the field?

No. It's an award that you walk around with on the sidelines until another guy gets a turnover. The same belt will be on the sidelines against FSU in the season opener.

Although, the only disadvantage to that is that sometimes you have guys who are trying to pop the other player instead of wrap up the tackle.
