So Saban’s been planning for Lanning? QB? Arch Manning.
Don't even put this out in the universe man. Even me quoting it is bad juju.

Why would Pate be the one to break that news?

He’s very well connected to the Saban staff in Tuscaloosa.

The administration has probably been working on this since October or November. To think that this is a surprise to the Alabama administration is silly.

I thought Pate went full aggy? He seems to have sipped some Maroon Koolaid this season. (Spoiler: that is NOT Koolaid!)

They are probably a bigger threat because they won’t have to pay his increased buyout to go to another SEC school.

He’s not a Bama fan, he’s from GA.

He just has very good connections in Tuscaloosa based on some of the things he’s previously reported that no one else was talking about.

Pate also assured everyone aggy was a top 10, maybe top 5 coaching job in the country and they could get anyone they really wanted. Except Deboer or Lanning of course. lulz

If true, like I said, wouldn’t want to be the coach to follow saban. Would want to be the coach to follow this one that will be fired

Lanning will be a great hire. He’s been recruiting coordinator at almost all of his stops. Tireless, energetic recruiting at a high level is more than half of the battle these days. Always has been, but more so now.

A) they had just spent $75M to fire Jimbo in one of the most embarrassing yet impressive buyouts in CFB history so I doubt they could just drop $12M/year on an additional coach plus a $20M buyout
B) that’s completely unrelated to whether he knows people in Tuscaloosa
C) apparently the OP made part of this up anyways so it might be a moot point

has a bigger bowl win than 62 year old Brian Kelly

But not nearly the amount of wins that the winningest active coach in the ncaa has. BK will embarrass Lanning

Pate backedtracked and said that "a coach" will be hired by no later than Saturday afternoon.

Guess I was right to ask why Pate would be the one to break this story. Shots in the dark......that's all it is.

we know that pecker head.. Perhaps you should focus on your
own team coming off yet another 3 loss season. If you think Kelly is gonna take you to a natty, your in for a serious
disappointment. We lost the GOAT. Yet, i am not worried one bit about the competition in the SEC. Bama will do just fine just like always.
