171 yards passing and 19 yards rushing on 16 carries. Why is he an example of a "running QB giving Bama problems"? Dak couldn't even get to the line of scrimmage half of the time vs Bama. This narrative is based on past seasons, just like our secondary being a "weakness". I'm not saying Watson isn't going to make plays but these Clemson fans are ridiculous on their boards.

King Bruce had balls. Queen Caitlyn has balls.

Watson is considerably better than Dobbs at passing.

Deshaun Watson could throw with his left hand and still be a better Qb then dobbs

Dobbs was playing injured, and rushing stats are obviously skewed from the 5(?) sacks he took. He had a decent day rushing the ball.

Watson = Dobbs but actually an accurate passer.

All of it comes down to the line of scrimmage.

Can Bama frick shite up like they have all season? If they dominate Watson is nullified and y'all run away with another Notre Dame type title game.

If Watson is allowed space and time then it's game on.

He may have to, unless your OL plays the game of their lives.

Do you really think Deshaun Watson is not going to give you trouble?

He was invited to New York. This isn't Josh Dobbs BAAAWWWW

The Bama struggles against a mobile QB are over blown. Mobile QBs hurt Bama by picking up 1st downs from time to time, but they do that versus everyone.

Elite, tall and NFL talent WRs hurt Bama more so than than mobile QBs. In 08 against UF it was Riley Cooper and Louis Murphy. In 2010 it was Alshon Jeffrey abusing Kirkpatrick and Millner. People like to bring up Manziel, but Bama had no answer for Mike Evans.

Big and talented WRs have Bama's kryptonite.

Well a big variable is Bama offensive line. Do the refs refuse to call holding on them? Bama oline is slaw and Clemson should be able to make it to Coker easier than they will Watson but Bama has been penalized like 3 times since 08 for holding so it probably won't happen.

It's because of Tennessee's defensive effort. If UT loses 45-14, nobody says anything positive.

Watson is a better passer and he has eyebrows.

Oklahoma did not have "Big and talented" WRs

All the more reason Bama is going to win this game. Clemson #1 wide receiver is 63rd nationally in receiving yards with 868 in 14 games. That's...bad. He's also listed at 5'10". They have no one else in the top 100. They spread it around to a lot of different receivers, but without that go to guy, it isn't going to be easy to get the ball downfield on long plays. Which is unsettling for Clemson who ranks 26th in long passing plays, behind Miss. St., OM, and Michigan State and just one ahead of Arkansas.

I'm not worried as much about Clemson's passing attack as I am about Watson and designed QB runs. I suspect Alabama is gameplanning on exactly that. In fact, I know they are as they are simulating Jalen Hurts (our dual-threat QB early enrollee), in designed QB runs plays already in scrimmages.

If they take that away, it's game over.

Ohio state had Devin Smith who wasn't tall, but was fast and elite. Sammie Coates also abused Bama. Bama just turned the Ball over and couldn't pass protect against OU. Trevor Knight played well, but the Bama offense lost of that game. It was similar to Ole Miss, even though Ole Miss scored 43 it was obvious the Bama offense lost the game.

24 pts will beat Clemson. They don't have the same caliber of WR they have had in the past.
