Not the best comparison IMO. Russel and Richardson were lazy. Manziel seems to have the ability but has some mental issues going on.

They don't appreciate that they have this gift, because they've always had it. The average person looks at them pissing away greatness and goes "WTF are they thinking?"

They take for granted that they have abilities that other people don't.
