Looking over the stats after hearing all of the hype on how dominant Nkemdiche has been this year I can't help but be puzzled where it's coming from

Nkemdiche: 4.5 TFL, .5 Sacks, 2 QB hurries, 1 Block

Bullard: 8 TFL, 4 Sacks, 2 QB hurries

Why the hype around one and not the other?

Robert Nkemdiche is the most overrated player in SEC history. He is an awful football player.

Most overrated, overhyped, and overpaid player in SEC history.

Why the hype

One guy was the top rated recruit coming out and the other wasn't. Same reason lsu fans wouldn't admit 6 months ago that Chubb>Fournette

Of all fans, you'd know that Nkemdiche isn't all hype, as he absolutely beat the frick out of your offensive line for four quarters two weeks ago.

Damn, did all 4.5 TFL come against Alabama?

UF's defensive line is going to give Ole Miss fits

Because Robert played amazing on national tv in a win against Bama. If Bullard shows out Saturday, he will get the recognition.

Ole Miss only has three sacks on the season I've heard, I'd assume Robert is getting double teamed a lot because the other guys aren't getting to the Qb so focus on the elite kid. Bullard has the advantage of a ton of pass rushers on the Dline so you can't focus protection on him.

Bullard was the #3 overall recruit his class iirc.

Stats don't always tell the whole picture OP. Dante Fowler is a really good example. His stats weren't amazing but he consistently made a difference on our defense and it showed up in his tape which led him to be the #3 overall pick last year.

Bullard is more underrated than Nkemdiche is overrated IMO.

Dawg, is you kidding me?

One is going to be a top 5 pick in draft. And the other is a senior that didn't leave early.

Do we really need to dissect anything else?

FWIW Bullard is still a beast. Just not a monster. And beast < monster btw

Yeah well this year Bullard has been far more productive than your top 5 pick.

His play and stats prove that.

But your "monster" has the name recognition.
