Widest Freeways in the world, 1-2 months of winter, humid climate is great for your skin, no annoying hills. Why do people live there? It is the energy capitol of the world, has a diverse and rich culture (& I'm not just talking about Mexicans, you racists SOBs), and most of all it is in the greatest state in the union.

I really hated my 5-6 months in Houston. I've talked a lot of shite about it. But now that ice been away for several months, I've begun to miss it's rich culture and gloryhole tradition.

Yes, Houston sucks, but that is a moronic statement. My gosh, does he have to drive the company Prius, or do they let him fly on one of those new airplane things that get you to any city in the country within 5 hours?

I went where the money is to be completely honest. I've been here for a little over 3 years and I enjoy it.

Our agency goes to OTC in the NRG complex every May. Next month will be my 9th time.

Outside of the humidity, I enjoy it. And last year, we even caught a break for that.

We like the Rice U. area, MinuteMaid for Astros games, great restaurants and bars, museums, and shopping.
There are some traffic and long wait time challenges, but it's usually worth it.

Both of those clowns...Finebaum is a POS....are not from SEC country or the South, so neither can relate to anything remotely involving the South in general. But Skip said many yrs ago he can see/recruit more Div. 1 ready high school baseball players in Houston in one day than he can see in a week in most other areas of the country. CLM said almost the same exact thing re Div.1 foot ball ready players.

There's an arena there too. It used to be Reliant Arena. It's northeast of the stadium

SDVTiger, LSUGrandad. And if you've spent any amount of time living here you know how many transplants love to hate on it (not just LA transplants). I actually love the fact that a lot of people move here but I hate it when they try to shite all over it after actively moving here with their families.

SDVTiger is a Texas fan. Grandad commented on illegals making it big.
So the ones that have moved there but do like it or don't complain, somehow - not count ???????

And they call us sensitive........

Houston is a ****hole with excellent restaurants. College Station is a tiny slice of Houston with no restaurants and nothing to do.

Houston has the world's largest medical center and is #1 in the world for medicine.

Houston is the #1 manufacturer of goods exported from the US.

Houston is the capital city of the world's oil industry.

It has a LOT going for it. Unfortunately, it is extremely unattractive, ultra-spread out, and generally grimy. But, that's what it is: a hard-working, no-nonsense town that people only live in because of their jobs. It doesn't really claim to be anything it isn't, nor do its residents. I have a lot more respect for it than Dallas, where people put on airs and act like they live in NYC instead of South Oklahoma, which is closer to the reality.
