I'm convinced. VT was really good enough to hold Bama to 206 offensive yards.

I think our D is coming together just fine. It has made strides with the intermediate and short routes. Belue will be back so I'm not as worried about the outside.
As far as VT, its their fundamentals and sheer athleticism. Like dude said earlier, they had a short week to prepare and still shut down that triple option attack and a dual threat qb in Vad. Now that I look at things, Bama held their own against this VT defense. First game of the season, nerves, primetime, etc...

They've won the ACC a bunch. Go ahead, crown them. I'm only saying the truth. They haven't performed well in BCS games.

They are a perennial top 25 team. I think their record in the BCS era is around .500 against the top 25. LSU played them a few years back, we know how great a program they are.

And Bama has beat them twice in the last 5 years. It does nothing to prove that not many teams in CFB have been able to do what they have done for such a large period of time.

Thats all we are getting at. VT has a good D and for them to be Bama's first game of the season, we fans should feel a little better about our O. In other words, Ole Miss' D isn't nearly as daunting as previously thought.
