I thought Hicks Poor was #88?

I remember this guy at Auburn. What were his parents thinking when they named him.

Arkansas has only retired a couple numbers

#12- Clyde "Smackover" Scott: Won a silver medal in the 1948 Olympics, All American RB later that year. First Razorback to ever win an Olympic medal.

#77- Brandon Burlsworth: Walked on in 1994. Later earned a scholly, started 34 straight games for Hogs. First team All American & SEC. Became the first Razorback to ever complete both his bachelors & masters before playing his final game. Burlsworth was drafted in the 3rd round by the Indianapolis Colts, but was killed in a car accident less than two weeks later. His locker remains in tact in the Razorback locker room.

Temper, temper. All Aubs in my family are a bunch of morons and wouldn't know sarcasm if it bit them in the arse. I thought you were being a smartass like them.

Damn, that is a shame. Smart and athletic and gone too soon. Clinton recorded a great video about him

McElroy is a disgrace to all of the great players who has worn that jersey number over the years. None of those QBs would have been thin-skinned enough to whine to the local newspapers about the "hatred" they have received from the Alabama fanbase. We should strip him of that number and give it to a player that has earned it.

Bama goes undefeated this year, wins back to back, McElroy ends his career w/o losing a game.....and you'll still bitch about the guy.

I've carried a grudge against McElroy since he blamed the Alabama fanbase for his poor play and cried to the newspapers about receiving a lot of hatred and animosity from other students. Then after playing like complete dogshit for most of the game against LSU crowed that it felt good to prove the haters wrong.

After playing his best game in a month in Alabama’s division-clinching decision over LSU, Greg McElroy said a lot of things.

Like this.

“Is it frustrating to me that people did lose faith in me? Yeah, it really ticks me off.”

And this.

“I’ve had to deal with a lot of animosity and a lot of hatred.”

Walter Lewis read those comments. His reaction: “It made me cringe.”

Lewis paid his dues under Bear Bryant and Ray Perkins to become a lifetime member of the exclusive fraternity of Alabama quarterbacks. He had some things to say about the things McElroy said.

Like this.

“Nobody hates the kid.

I’ve been called the n-word.

So c’mon. The stuff he’s been getting ain’t nothing.

He doesn’t know what criticism is.”

Welcome to the world of the Alabama quarterback, where you can be a Heisman candidate one minute and have no shot to get elected dog-catcher the next.

Lewis, who has yet to meet McElroy but would love to talk with him, offered some advice on how to handle the inevitable heat.

“You can’t fight it. It’s just there. Don’t worry about it,” Lewis said. “The best course of action is to do what you’ve been called to do on the field, and all the other stuff will work itself out.”

Tyler Watts, another member of this fraternity, class of 2002, echoed that wisdom.

“The quarterback needs to control his emotions on and off the field,” Watts said. “You gotta have ice running through your veins if you’re going to play that position.”

McElroy is apparently doing something right on the feild seeing as he has never lost a game.

Good advice...maybe it was a learning moment for him. But, if that's all there was to it, I can't see throwing the kid under the bus.

It's called having a good supporting cast.

I guess Trent Dilfer was the best QB in 2001.
