Either he will improve, or step aside this Saturday. I am really pulling for him because that kid is a true athlete. And, we all have to remember that these are just kids. He has major skills, but he really got it in practice today as far as the team bringing everything that they had to make his "first-game jitters go away...to say the least.
We'll see. Really pulling for him, though!
He certainly knows by now that he is not a Heisman. That might make a difference, win or lose, in our future. For better or worse I suppose, but those boys on our team really had "one of those" practices today. (If you have ever played football, then you know what I mean)
Hope we do it again tomorrow if it gets this team together.
I see a lot of fear in this post.

We have very large intramural fields on the Plains.
Just saying.
Sometimes, you just feel like playing some recreation ball on any given Monday, every once in a while.
"Tag football" is fun.

Are you the team water boy? I ask because you infer that you were at practice and you seem special.

Some dude nicknamed "boom" was there too.
He looked a little bit older to be a student, but we just said, "oh well...He seems like he knows this game", as he really knew a lot about what he was talking about in our "practice" today at the intramural fields...
...down here on the Plains today at non-practice today.
Cool dude, though. Crazy, but still cool.

Believe me...we practiced today. In one form or another.
Auburn can always step outside of the rules when we want to.
Well he makes a strong point.

Did he magically learn how to go through progressions, not stare down receivers, realize the difference between white jerseys and blue ones?
I never bought into the whole , he's a beast, upgrade from NM. If was so much better, why ain't he he starter last year? In college football nowadays you play the best player , whether FR or SR. --- JJ has a heck of strong arm, it's not extremely accurate and he can't read a defense at all, but it's strong. The fact that he's not as creative running the ball as NM or Cam, really takes some punch out of the offense.
He's got the arm, he seems intelligent when speaking, seems like a great person, I just don't know how football smart he is, at least from a QB smarts.
Now I'm not a guru like Gus, but I would focus on the RBs , give him some easy throws and play action to keep the defense at least stretched a bit. I don't know it's a curious things on the plains, everyone , all the experts gush over him in practice; then Saturday comes. Got to be frustrating.
