Yeah, much worse than naming your field after the guy who got you on probation. Also, Bobby Bowden's got a statue on FSU and he got them in trouble.

So a guy that put Alabama on probation has a 12 foot statue outside the stadium?

Are you seriously trying to compare the situations?

One of the coaches lost his job over the probation, one did not.

One of the coaches was heavily involved in the school's wrongdoings, one was not.

I didn't wade thru all 14 pages of this thread.

But I just saw the is on sportsbybrooks twitter.

"It’s not a booster, it’s not an alumni of [rival school] but it’s a guy who is very, very involved with the athletics department up there. He’s taken [accused recruit] to [school city] several times before."

This is a quote on the story brooks has on his website. I guess its bad for Bama with Brent Calloway, but ok with Auburn since Sean Nelson did the same exact fricking thing with Trovon Reed and Greg Robinson.

Sean Nelson paid Greg Robinson's parents' mortgage? That is what J Lee is alleging. Maybe you should've read the thread.

I was talking about this quote in Sports by Books article on his website.

Which Sean Nelson did for both Trovon Reed and Greg Robinson and has been proven for fact.

"It’s not a booster, it’s not an alumni of [rival school] but it’s a guy who is very, very involved with the athletics department up there. He’s taken [accused recruit] to [school city] several times before."

Maybe its you who needs to read an article.

Actually, he's alleging that he thinks (hopes) that a Bama fan paid Peaches' mortgage. Because he says he can't prove it because they were cash payments.

Apparently, banks/lenders don't keep any record of mortgage payments that are made in cash. As a homeowner, I've never made a mortgage payment with cash, but I definitely won't do so now that I know that there will never be any record that the payment was made.

The point of Brooks's article wasn't to call into question the nature of the relationship the guy has/had with Calloway. The point was to make Jeffrey Lee look like the idiot he is for going out of his way to NOT call the guy a booster, yet describe him as a booster.

He basically laid the smack down on Lee and called him a hack, which he is.

There would be proof that a cash payment was made. It won't have a name like a check or ACH payment would, but Lee could present a somewhat logical assumption that it was made by someone other than Peaches. Very few people pay their mortgages in cash.

Eh, I wouldn't call Lee a hack. I'd call him the senior guy at a recruiting website. He gets pretty good recruiting info, and gets some insight into Auburn's program...but he's not so much of a journalist.

He also has a little man complex, just fyi.

Lee may be just that a hack, but SBB calling anyone out and calling them hacks is rich.

Not much degree of separation between the two.
