Pat Dye was the one who really built the bama program before he kicked the shite out of it later. He was the coach who taught the players the bear bought how to play and brought da barh his first NC's at bama in the early 60's.
Hell, da barh was scared shitless of Dye and practically begged him not to take the AU job. He knew Dye would whip his arse and after the first arse kicking da barh promptly retired and died.
