Coaches certainly didn't boot him but the the team likely told him to give it his all or GTFO during the players meeting with an emphasis on GTFO after USCjr.
IIRC, he was cited (maybe arrested but I think cited) for drinking underage BUT his only real crime so far is criminal stupidity.
Hopefully he figures it out but I'm not holding my breath. From what I've heard his Bio Dad in Cali showed back up when he got somewhat famous and gave him turrible advice. His Mom is no saint but she's pretty cool despite that (know her outside of foosball and she's a nice woman when she's not pissed at Gata fans).

What's crazy is that Vol fans suggested TE even when he was being recruited. "Too tall" and "TE" became a running joke for 4 years plus (counting crootin'). Dad didn't get heavily involved until this summer when Hurd went to workout with him (not sure but I think Cali Dad runs a gym and/or is a personal trainer).
But yeah, as TE he would've killed. He lacks vision and is too goddamn slow to be an elite RB even tho I did love watching him plow through people when he actually gave a shite.
