I've heard for years that Alabama gets preferential treatment from the refs

Yesterday I got to witness it firsthand.

Their DB's maul receivers and while it was called a few times, they do it every play.

Alabama is a great program and has been for decades. Most of the time they don't need "extra help" but it's obvious when they need "help", they get it. It seems the SEC will do whatever it takes to keep their cash cow milking. Economically it's a good strategy to keep the gravy train flowing but when all 50/50 calls in meaningful or close games go one-way it's a turn off.

Congratulations to Georgia for being ranked #1!

The only difference between Alabama and Texas yesterday was Alabama had theirs called and Texas didn't.

This is 100% true.

Plus they usually commit late hits that somehow get flagged, then they miraculously find another penalty and say it’s offsetting penalties.

Bro, you don’t have to put hook ‘em at the end of every post. It’s gay. Stop it.

Pay attention, newcomers: THIS is how you melt down a day after a game.

Welcome to the SEC. You just received lesson one in who runs this conference.

Sounds like a disgruntled aggy. Go find an Appetizer State forum.

And when you actually begin SEC play you’ll learn it’s also with all the big 6. They’ll get every single call bc the league is nothing but a bunch of good ole boys from across Alabama, Louisiana and Georgia refereeing games. You’ll never win big.

Bama got called for 15 penalties. Don't want to hear about “preferential treatment”.

You had many chances to bury us but you didn’t. Take your L and move on.

I don't think the refs were giving them preferential treatment. They just sucked. I never thought I'd see worse officiating than that in the SEC until the Big 12 officials said "hold my beer" yesterday.

Your two programs together are probably the least able to bitch about being victims of "poor" officiating of anyone in the country

Wait until your basketball team’s first trip to Rupp Arena.

Btw, if you had an issue with the way Alabama's DB's played yesterday, then you are going to hate it in the SEC.

Because damn near every team in the SEC plays physical with the corners. And it goes both ways, receivers are going to push like crazy. There is going to be hand holding, jersey pulls etc. And teams are going to make the officials call it, some more than others. And while it may be popular to hate on Alabama, Alabama is far from the worst.

So I suggest you might want to start sucking it up, because SEC refs aren't going to be gifting you a bunch of PI calls against any team.

Peak Texas I guess. Alabama gets a record amount of penalties in a game, while they get a total of...5.

Texas fans "Refs were in your pocket"
