I disagree with your assessment but you bring up a good point.
Nick Saban's runs at LSU and Alabama were set up due partly to his giving spirit to smaller schools : UAB and ULM. Ed O did his research. He knows how to please the football gawds.

I don't think we would have made this turnaround without that loss. So I see it as a necessary evil.
Also, I don't know any Troy fans. I haven't had any shite talked to me by them. As far as hearing shite about it from other SEC fans, I DGAF about that. No one will be talking shite anymore besides Alabama and aTm fans. I'm used to both, because Alabama always beats us, and aTm fans talk endless shite until we whip them in November like usual.
So like, I just think the whole thing is funny.
