I don't understand why people keep thinking about only one game. His defense was ranked #86 during the regular season that year.

In terms of points and yards allowed, Clemson never had a defense ranked in the top 10 in those categories under Steele.
That could obviously change this year though. Not saying he's an overall bad coach or anything. Just found that surprising.

He's a top 10 LB coach in the country for sure and has been under some very successful defensive coaches in the past. I don't think it's a stretch to say that he has a very good defensive mind.

The Ags desperately need Steele to be a failure at LSU. Since their team can't actually beat LSU on the field, all they can do is gloat about Chavis and pray that LSU's defense sucks as bad as theirs has in recent years. They've got to have some sort of "victory" over their newfound big brother.
