It purely a coincidence that since the rise of Walmart, Tyson, jb hunt, arvest, and others that nwa has had a presence of many other f500 companies move into the area, pro sports move to the area, and one of the worlds best museums built in the area, because non of the money makes it way back to Arkansas.

And you put all your eggs in the "cheap shite made in Taiwan" basket

FYI...Louisiana also has seafood and 4 of the top 12 biggest ports in the country

This is why Louisiana has so many problems. Ignorant residents that spend other people's money and say science isn't real.

You just described every state in the south. All of the southern states are recieve more money from the federal government then they contribute in taxes.

You can't really talk about other states being "poor" when your own state is pretty fricking high on the list for number of people on welfare.

Wrong, Tyson actually makes huge bank sending chicken feet that would otherwise be discarded to China. The product is grown locally.

Arvest is in this whole banking thing.

We actually have an egg in the oil basket with Murphy, but that's based in el dorado who before that only contributed half of brooks and Dunn and isn't n nwa anyway.

This.

Walmart is a huge drain on the economy. By paying their employees minimum wage or very close to minimum wage and offering no meaningful benefits, they have one of the highest percentages of employees receiving government assistance. Meanwhile, Walmart and the Waltons receive almost 8 billion dollars in tax breaks every year.

Boo hoo. People with no skills making minimum wage. I'll give you walmarts anti-union associatism is bad, but there are always ways to unionize.

Try going to another country with no skills and let me know how much you make.

It's like they can't comprehend that there are jobs at Walmart that don't involve running a register or stocking shelves and all of those jobs pay competitively.

You get payed your worth, if you feel you are not, someone else will if you are truly worth what you think.

Cant we all just get along? I love Tyson chicken and Walmart and Bill Clinton was a fun president. Hell I spent my honeymoon in a cabin at Petit Jean State Park. I would like to extend an olive branch to the wonderful Razorback posters in the thread.

Just saying something doesn't make it true. Arkansas pays for your poor asses. Arkansas is the 27th most dependent state, Louisiana is 4th.

It's funny you mention that. You realize that that means even though you are the home to one of the biggest corporations in America, that Arkansas basically breaks even when it comes to how much federal aid it recieves verses taxes it gives.

That doesn't negate the fact that you are still high on the list for percentage of you population being on welfare. Louisiana is around a 1 to 1 ratio and Arkansas is around .97 to 1. So in that sense, the two states are pretty close.
