As a vet I share the same opinion with every other vet I've spoken to about this.. I really couldn't care less what you do during the national anthem, if you want to kneel in protest you have the right to do so, due to the men and women who serve in order to keep your attention whoring and "oppressed" self, free.

Okay...people like this guy who think racism doesn't exist is a complete idiot.

Never said racism doesn't exist but let us take a look at the at the topic racism in policy matters (which is what all this about). It does not exist and the numbers and facts support that point.

Also riots in baltimore when they were protesting. What were they protesting? The black police chief, the black mayor, the black policy officers, the black store owners who suffered as apart of that riot? Most of these places with so called policy racism have black officials all around.

Also as a society we have many problems not all inherit to black people of course white people divorce rates have gone up as well I believe they are at around 50 percent.

However, the main issue should be concentrated on improving conditions in house regardless of race. Like why do black people commit 50 percent of the murders in this country when they are 13 percent of the population. Why are black kids given shitty schools in the inner city and they suffer with graduation rates. You can't fix a overall society issue without fixing the root problem first.

But yet we all want to call and play the racist card or the white privilege card whenever we can and not stop the people from killing each other in Chicago.

Not sure what vets you talk to but as a Vet myself I have seen all of them dislike it.

I am involved with the VFW, American Legion, the VA, and many more non profit veteran organizations and they all think it has no place in the national anthem.

Do I like it? No. Do I think it's anything more than a big publicity stunt? No. However, as long as their actions are within the laws of this country it is their right to do as they wish during the national anthem. Agree with it or not, you, I, and many others served to defend that right among other rights that we may not agree with.

I'm in my late 20's, most of the other vets I've spoken to about this are as well. Not to make assumptions but if those you're speaking to are at the VA, VFW and American Legion I'm guessing the majority of those vets are from a different generation, where I can see how views could differ.

Don't try that individual freedom garbage here with all these uber-conservatives on this board. That is a concept most people here cannot possibly understand.

I honestly believe most of them are now kneeling for the attention. It certainly can't be because they are causing change or helping the issue.

They can do it all they want but at the end of day, what DawgsLife says here makes the most sense.

"It’s true that around 13 per cent of Americans are black, according to the latest estimates from the US Census Bureau.

And yes, according to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, black offenders committed 52 per cent of homicides."

Throughout the season, some Eagles players raised their fists during the Anthem but all had stopped doing so by the playoffs.

Most notably, safety Malcolm Jenkins was raising his fist above his head but stopped in December after the NFL announced it would donate to social justice charities. Jenkins was part of a coalition of players that worked with the NFL to bring about the donation.

What’s more disgusting are people like you, who marginalize that guy’s service by thinking people who protest in whatever peaceful way they choose are disrespecting him or anything he did during his service. In fact, the opposite is true. Recognizing and exercising your rights as an American citizen - including kneeling during the national anthem - is among the best ways to honor those who served to protect that freedom.

You don’t even understand what freedom means. Freedom means you have the right to do these things you speak of. It also means that the rest of us can look at you with pity.

You have both the freedom to “speak” and the freedom to deal with the consequences of your “speech”.

I fully support your desire and choice to burn a flag in this country. But don’t ask me to think highly of you because it’s obvious to me that you don’t have the intellect to deal with an issue in a productive manner.

That is why I feel sorry for you and people like you. You should probably be a Missouri faculty member. You would fit in nicely there.

Downvote #5.

And I hope you get kicked off but that's up to the admins.

What a fricking loser for saying that shite. America is no better because you have that attitude.

I don’t think you read a word of what I wrote.

Or Else? When did I say that? Seems like you want to make a choice AND have everyone applaud you for it? Otherwise they are terrible people?

Wow, you are really a champion of freedom aren’t you? I bet you are a senior faculty at Mizzou. You have to be to believe your ignorance.

Look man. I didn't watch one nfl game all year because of this kneeling nonsense. Honestly, I rarely watch nfl games and it wasn't a big sacrifice for me. I am usually footballed out from Saturday by the time Sunday rolls around. I recognize a person's right to kneel for the anthem and I have the right to not watch if they do. That being said, if CNB doesn't feel the need to boycott something he enjoys that is his right too. He also has the right to express his opinion on the topic on this board. Clearly he is tired of the whole things and I bet he isn't the only one. As for your statement I just wanted to point out that threatening violence on somebody for exercising their first amendment right is about the least patriotic thing a person can do. When you do this you are disrespecting the spirit of the country that the military fought for and many died for. It is more disrespectful than all of kneeling players combined.

That’s the disgusting attitude you displayed in your first post in this thread.

You jumped to this rash, outrageous judgment because someone suggested the guy signed up to protect the freedom of people to kneel during the anthem.

This statement tells me all I ever wanted to know about your lack of character. There were times I thought you might just be a troll having fun.

You are exactly who I feared you were. I feel bad for you and everyone who has to be around you every day.

That’s the “or else.”

And that’s fricking disgusting, comrade.
