Calipari isn't leaving the best job in CBB to coach for that abortion of a franchise.

Would be his worst NBA offer yet, lol... Of course he's going to take it.

From his contract:

He signed a seven-year deal worth $52.5 million last June and will earn a $1.6 million longevity bonus on July 1.

SO on July 2 he cashes the 1.6 million check and goes to the kings

I thought Suitcase Mike owned Cal? Why would you want him to leave in that case?

John Calipari is waaaay smarter than that.

It would be like swapping a thoroughbred for a burro.

He would have left for some of the other gigs over the Kings
I'm sure Calipari is pissed the Pels didn't want him but he is not the coach I want on the sidelines for a 7 game playoff series

don't think he's going to sacramento, but if he's going to jump to the nba, this is the year to do it

Maybe then Arkansas can be a basketball school again and quit getting so upset about your football team sucking

Why? He's got the projected first and third picks on his team.

I don't think Cal is that worried with the NBA anymore. It's like Saban to the NFL.

I kind of think he'll go at some point, but it's getting less likely with each passing year. That said, I wouldn't be all that broken up about it so long as he left early enough in the spring that we could hire someone else.

This was the offseason that UK should've been worried with the Pelicans and Thunder jobs both open. They're both playoff teams with young superstars in markets where Cal could be THE guy like he is in Lexington. He's not going to some shithole franchise like the Kings even if the have Boogie after not even sniffing those jobs. If he does leave I'll be absolutely shocked.
