You guys are still here? Aren't you going to miss your flight back to the Big 12?

Do you need some help packing? I know several SEC charter members who would be glad to assist and lend a helping hand out of kindness to our out of place adoptee.

Sewanee and Tulane? They got nothing better to do than help us pack.

What's GaTech up to these days?

Good point. Once you're in the family you are in the family. Those are our blood brothers and I'm sure they would pitch in to take the trash to the curb...so to speak.

Something similar occurred when A&M left.

KU didn't threaten to sue the SEC and each member school if you were admitted, nor did they have some retard draft up a fraudulent report showing how the KC Metro Area would fall apart economically if Missouri (who isn't even located in KCMO) were to join the SEC and stop playing them.

Kind of like how the SEC has added four teams in the last 20 years.

I don't recall politicians deciding which teams joined the SEC in 1991 and 2011 (like Texas Tech and Baylor in 1994).

If I were betting on what happens by the end of 2012 for the Big 12, I'd say there will no expansion.

If there is expansion, FSU & ND are the primary targets.

Clemson & others are secondary targets. Arkansas isn't in the picture at all.

If ND doesn't join, a conference affiliation agreement will be sought, meaning that ND would agree to playing 2 or 3 Big 12 teams every year. Texas & ND already have 4 games scheduled prior to the end of this decade and its my understanding that the games might be played on Thanksgiving every other year in Austin & earlier in the season for those played in South Bend.

Things may clear up when the new commissioner takes over in June or July. I can't imagine anything concrete happening before he gets his feet on the ground.

But then, I could be completely wrong.

Actually they pretty much did. Maybe not a full on technical data filled "report" but what you describe has been the daily mantra of KC media, ku and K-State since we left. That we "betrayed Kansas City and our own alumni there" and are "devastating our own city's economy" and so on. Never mind the fact that neither Columbia, MO nor College Station have actually gone anywhere last time I checked. To listen to Big 12ers you would think both our campuses have physically moved to Birmingham.

Speaking of which, how is A&M's relocation to Shreveport going?

Yeah, but we are talking ancient history here. The vast majority of those games were played before Hitler invaded Poland. Not exactly the type of history that means anything to anyone living today.

So please tell me when ancient history ends and relevant history begins? The moron factor is high in this thread.

To be fair, when I was at Leavenworth (July 2009 - June 2010), the KC "Falling Star" wasn't exactly on Mizzou's side either.

Do you know why Notre Dame alternates between playing USC and Stanford every year on Thanksgiving even though they play both schools every year? They do so to ensure that ND has a presence in California annually at Thanksgiving.

No, the KU Star has never been on Mizzou's side and that's putting it mildly. We've had some great individual Mizzou beat writers from that newspaper, but the upper management and content reviewers have more often than not been ku dweebs, and it shows.

I'm not sure what the dynamic toward A&M is in the Dallas, Houston, San Anton, Fort Worth newspapers, would be interested to hear your take...living in Austin like I do I mostly read the Statesman which obviously is Bevo Homer Rag #1 (though the Aggies do get a fair amount of coverage considering it's UT's home city).

The only newspaper that gives us fair coverage is the San Antonio paper. The Dallas paper hates us, the FW paper doesn't care, the Comical only reposts articles from Zwinerman (SAEN) and doesn't even have an A&M beat writer, and the arse (Austin Shitty Statesman) is the arse.

No, I didn't know that. Maybe they want to now have a presence in Texas during that time, since that slot is open now. Maybe not. I think the main thing is to get them on a consistent schedule. They also play at OU in late Oct 2012.

As much fail as there is on that thread, that is honestly par for the course in terms of how many Big 12 fans view expansion and A&M/Mizzou leaving
