He didn't deserve it. He lost three games and that was on him; he didn't step up and lead his team to victory.
I fear that the insidious influence of the Coonass Crawdad Club may be at work here. They use their thousands of dollars they have made harvesting pond and creek roaches to influence college football decision makers.
The disease infected claws of the CCC are destroying college football and all of its prestigious awards and accolades.

What if Daniels lost 10 games and still had the same stats he had this season? Does he still "deserve" it?

If Florida State had really wanted to be in the playoffs, they could have prevented Alabama from beating the most dominant team in the nation and mauling their defensive line.
