Yeah, weeks of this. “Hide your coaches, if LSU wants him we’ll get him” as they threw out big names like Riley, Rhule, Jimbo, Aranda ect. Then they get BK and when asked why wasn’t he on your wishlist if he’s so good they say “Well, we didn’t think we could get him”
Oh, ok. So you thought you could pull Riley from OU or Jimbo from A&M but not Kelly from ND??

Lots of lies being told on the CCB

It’s cool to ride for your guy now that it’s done, but stop all the “if we wanted your guy we would’ve gotten him” bs
He’s a good hire, but there’s reasons he wasn’t mentioned till the ink was dry.

Do you understand why this may have been? ND is sort of the holy grail of coaching positions and he was sitting at 11-1 with a shot at the playoffs. Who in their right mind would think that guy would entertain leaving? Especially after being there for 12 years?

4 years in and no SEC title game for Jimbo who has a equivalent record to the drunk he replaced

Aggies will be the 4th best team from the Southwest conference in the SEC.

I’m just sayin all these guys lie to save face.

Absolutely.

I have no doubt he wanted to because they have a comfort level with each other. And that is very important. But I am of the opinion it never went further than that. Again, I have no way of knowing for sure.

And I never post on CCB or TR

I just get tired of all the LieSU posters re-writing history.

Who's re-writing history? None of us or any of the media knows who Woodward called and/or what offers he made. I think that was made abundantly clear when Kelly was inevitably announced as the hire when he hadn't even been a part of the conversations that made the twitter news cycle. So either 1) no one really knew anything; or 2) LSU put together a massive deal to steal a guy from a blue blood program in a matter of 24-48 hours after being turned down by however many coaches the rant thinks LSU turned LSU down. Which do you think is more likely?

But honestly, does it really give A&M fans some sense of self worth if their coach may or may not have been a candidate for another job? Personally, I'd be a lot more concerned with how my coach underperformed than whatever LSU was or wasn't doing in their coaching search.

You really think the same guy who paid him a kings ransom to go to A&M didn’t even kick the tires on bringing him to LSU?

I'm sure he kicked the tires with more than just a few guys, as should any AD looking for a coach. Not doing that is what happens when you're Joe Alleva and put all your cards into one hat and end up having to promote an assistant coach

Oh even Finebaum said it, huh? Well it's official now. Faggie hasn't been around the conference long enough to know he's full of shite and not nearly as plugged in as he thinks he is.

We did want Jimbo. To lose. To Ed Orgeron. In Ed O's last game. And he was kind enough to oblige us.

I agree. The Aggies should not worry about jimbo getting a possible offer. They should be worried that Elko has a good chance to receive an offer. Besides, he is the best coach on the Aggie staff. Just think what kind of record Aggie would have if Elko wasn’t there. Easily 2-3 more losses a season since he’s been the def coordinator.
