Is that the guy who Oberlin (now Akron), Clemson, Georgia Tech, University of Pennsylvania, Washington & Jefferson, Rice, Buchtel (baseball)
and Auburn all claim ? Is that the guy who had his greatest success at Georgia Tech ? Must be John Heisman.

Aren't we the only school he coached at that has won a heisman?

In more ways that one. Kinda like if Kentucky put up a statue of the Bear because he coached there a few yrs but was a winner at Bama.

What... 30 or 40 yrs after his death? That's totally relevant and a reason to have a bust of him.

And...? Were doing a heisman memorial. Why not have heisman when he coached here? Who cares how long it was for...

Yeah.. it's exactly the same. He won 67% of his games at Auburn, no Championships at all. His claim to fame is from other schools where he coached and played. EXACTLY the same as if Kentucky, or hell.. the Aggies put up a bust of the Bear on their campus.

Not at all. I think yall are missing the point after all the bashings of the Saban statue for winning a NC, here yall are, putting up a bust of someone based on the accomplishments he had at other schools. Or because he had a 67% win percentage while there. Either way, it's

You're missing the point. It's not about wining percentage. It's about him coaching at auburn and us being the only school to have won a heisman where he coached. It's nothing like if uk were to put up a bear statue. We understand he didn't do much while here, but it's not about that.

That's too.

Well.. then.. under that criteria, Buster Brown should be getting a bust pretty soon too.

yep. You definately missed the point. It's not about his accomplishments at auburn. That's not why were putting it up.

I never agree with Hunter...ever.

But this is gay.

Ga Tech should have a statue of him...he actually won a NT there.

Donahue, Jordan, Dye, and Tuberville should have statues before him.

Which is why it's so .

Again, that'd be like the Aggies erecting a statue of the Bear, or Kentucky doing so, because he just happened to coach there, based on his success at Bama. At least he won a Conference Championship at those schools. Auburn is putting up a bust of someone that accomplished zilch at their school. @ Auburn.

Say what you want, and call the bust CJH if you will. But that is a bust of Shug's bag man for the 57 MNC 1/2 team. His last name was Marshall.

Again. Were NOT putting this statue based on HIS accomplishments. It's about auburn being the only school to have a heisman where he was a coach. It has zero to do with how much he won at auburn or anywhere else.
