Coaches who can recruit effectively even with pay-for-play will have even more value in the future of CFB in my opinion, not the opposite.

Having a coach that can bring talent in despite not offering as much to players because of his personality/gravitas/history will be even more impactful because many teams will be relying solely on NIL money to recruit.

UGA hasn't been offering recruits big NIL deals to come to UGA. Their big NIL deals go to starters, not to recruits. They've done this largely to follow the NCAA's NIL guidance. They've still been able to out-recruit teams who have been paying recruits to come to their school largely due to the recruiting acumen of the staff. Recruits were already taking less to go to UGA in order for an opportunity to earn more in the long run should they become a starter.

I don't see why UGA starting to offer big money to recruits won't INCREASE their recruiting edge. It won't flatten things as their recruiting heavy staff is already winning battles against teams paying recruits to come to their college.

Being a great recruiter will always matter in CFB.

I think you're completely right in the current arrangement. I think it could be deemphasized greatly with where I think this is heading.

I think Grubb never really wanted to come here for family reasons. I didn't like the way he handled the situation , leaving us in the lurch like he did. Don't take a job if you don't intend to do the job.

Didn't bother me one way or the other, UNTIL, he proclaimed himself in front of the boosters that he was the new ALABAMA OC. He knew by that time he had a foot out the door. The only person you can really hold to a higher standard is yourself. And that ain't Grubb. Good Riddance.

College coaches will almost always take an equal position on an NFL team.

Now they will. Saban left the NFL partly because he couldn't get any leverage on the prima donna millionaires when they wouldn't buy in to his system. Now it's the same in college. Prima donna player doesn't want to listen to his coach? He'll just take his NIL elsewhere.

Since Nick isn’t around anymore for NFL or college programs to hire from, the focus on Georgia’s staff will go up, and it will be their turn as the 1st choice on the assistant coach merry-go-round.
