you have pointed out a real weakness our society has adopted. having unlicensed weapons and possible drug involvement is "no big deal" as you say. it's no wonder so many innocent people get shot every year. if people don't know the differnce between right and wrong, i say society should teach them by sending them to prison in yuma arizona and make them crush rocks 10 hrs a day. get the scum off the streets.

Carrying a gun with altered/scratched serial no. is a big deal. He will in all likelihood not see a football field for two years. Who will want him then?

So you see jail time for this? First offense? He will play at a smaller school

Probably won't be jail time unless the Crow has an arrest record we dont know about. He should be able to invoke first offender status and get away with just probation...

Now, 5dimes should take bets on how long before he violates the terms of his probation.

Well, no MJ was found in car, and the "smells like MJ" is what cops always say in order to get legal search rights at a traffic stop. However, one of the reasons that he was kicked off the team so quickly is because he told Richt he wouldn't pass a drug test.

The dumbass f'ed up big time. When he looks in the mirror and realizes what he threw away; I hope he thinks it was worth it.

I think it will all come down to if his handprints are on the gun. If they aren't , he can probably skate a bit with the excuse he didn't put it there.

Since the weapons were illegal (alteredID numbers), wouldn't the possibility of probation in exchange for information leading to the conviction of the sellers be likely?
