He broke team rules but was the SEC FOTY. I think Saban finds a way to keep such a talented running back on the team under such circumstances. Like it or not, richt didn't hesitate o the dismissal. Fortunately we had Gurley and Marshall to make us forget all about the what ifs

Chauncey Rivers was arrested THREE TIMES for drug possession before he was dismissed from UGA
That's school policy

Jonathan Taylor wasnt dismissed from UGA till he committed his second offense.
... and then what happened?

So...the point was to #1 dig up an article from 4 years ago, even though the same 4 year old article was already discussed on tRant in an earlier post.
My point was...if you have to dig back 4 years to find a similar case, then you aren't looking closely enough. There have been plenty of players arrested and kicked off their teams for pot and weapons in the last 4 year.

Crowell even admitted he had had several issues while at UGA.

issues being weed

So do I add him to the '16 List?

Wow. Pretty bold for Georgia to blatantly violate amateurism rules and put Crowell back on the team after playing 2 years in the NFL. Sucks he got dismissed again though.

What ever happened to the GA/AL charges?

This really cuts deep OP. I think im gonna take some time and really ponder punishment for college football players. Thanks for the perspective.

Kinda my point here. He kicked off our starting runningback with some serious quickness.

Don't compare. It's not the same for all you brilliant legal scholars who suddenly are law experts.

In doing so, he deprived the world of a Crow/Gurley/Marshall RB rotation in 2012, which I for one think everyone would have enjoyed.

Charges were later dropped.
So he kicked him off the team for no reason and without due process.
Richt is a genius I tell ya.
No wonder he got fired.
