What do Gator fans think of him? Expectations with a starting freshman QB? Mac hasn't had an athlete at QB before. How does the offense evolve around him?

Not yet, but most do expect him to be the starter the 1st game. Has a really good arm, athletic, but played really bad competition in HS, so who knows how he'll be when the bullets start flying in the SEC. From what I've seen regarding expectations, most don't expect much this year. 6-6 to 8-4.

Next question, Coach Mac. If you have success at Florida, will you apply to take over for Saban?

Biggest question mark for him is level of competition from HS and if he can adjust to the next level. His HS competition was straight up terrible.

But I think he looks the part of a good college QB - quick decisions and fast release. He's the son of a coach so he's been groomed to be a QB for awhile. My gut feeling is he wins the job.

I know a lot of people want Treon to be the starter because he's a South Florida boy and played for a powerhouse HS team, but I just didn't see the IT factor with him last year.

I seriously think that florida will be worse this year then last. They about lost to Tennessee and kentucky in the swamp while also lost to Missouri and usc. If you look at their schedule they have UK and ut away this year so they could absolutely finish 6th in the east after losing so many to the draft.

i doubt it,UF actually have competent coaching now that know how to develop players, so that alone should be worth a few more wins...if nothing else certainly no worse than muschamp's last year.

Yes. He has a sizable lead in the QB battle and McElwain really likes him as a QB. Grier is taking over the huddle and has become a leader. McElwain is huge on that. I fully expect Grier to start in the fall.

We are talking barely home school level and playing daddy ball. But, he is big and athletic. Hope the hometown kid does well in Gainesville.

It is in Gainesville

I think we are much much better coached team. There may be some struggles adjusting to a new coach, but still think we are a 7 win team at a minimum.
