usc fans have been long suffering and now they dont seem to know how to handle success with sportsmanship. every south carolina fan i have ever known has a deep seated resentment of georgia. not really sure why.

I suppose y'all and Bama can jointly take over our 4th biggest rival spot from UT. I can't get excited about beating Butch Jones. Fulmer? Of course. Dooley? Naturally. Butch Jones? Cincinnati? No way.

I know Georgia fans don't view it as a rivalry because of tradition and historical relevance; however, Richt owns Georgia Tech and Tennessee has been down too long though they still give your team fits. If I were a Georgia fan, I'd respect South Carolina more than Tennessee and Georgia Tech right now. Florida is your clear #1, but after that it's up for debate because South Carolina is more relevant that any other legit. rival you guys could claim.

No... If you hadn't lost at home 16-13 to an Auburn team that UGA beat 45-7 in '11 or hadn't lost to UF team 44-11 that UGA beat 17-9 in '12, SC would be on 3 going on 4 east titles...

That's all you had to do & it didn't happen...

Sure, I'll play the "what if" game in favor of the schedule argument.
If you'd played @ Arkansas in November 2011 instead of Auburn and @ LSU @ night in 2012, then you wouldn't have won the division either year, and no one would give a shite about the Auburn and Florida losses. Your win over Florida last year was far from impressive anyways. You won, but it's not like you owned them. Georgia didn't own any good team last season. South Carolina? 35-7 L Florida? 17-9 w/ a lot of breaks Nebraska? Tied at the start of the 4th, overrated pass defense and team; oh, and 66-38 and 70-31 >>> 45-31.

They have Auburn. Just because they've sucked the past couple of years doesn't mean it's not a rivalry anymore.

I forgot Auburn despite them having defeated Georgia more recently than Georgia Tech and Tennessee. Yeah, I know a rival being down doesn't break the traditional rivalry; however, respecting your traditional yet average rivals more than a good team that's given you fits the past few years is just stupid. Traditions like women voting, out of office, segregation, and slavery have been broken in the past. I believe that we can soon reach the point where certain traditional rivalries can be parted with. If you're a kid and have only watched Georgia football for the past 5 years, what do Georgia Tech, Auburn, and Tennessee mean to you versus South Carolina? Who's given you more trouble? Exactly. The traditions would have to be instilled in you. I don't believe that tradition is what makes the game great or else we wouldn't have teams like today's South Carolina, Florida since Spurrier, 21st century LSU, etc.

Wasn't that Garcia's last game for them?

UGA went to South Carolina and got their asses whooped. South Carolina went to Florida and got their asses whooped. Where did UGA play Florida? Neutral site. South Carolina also had to go to LSU while Georgia got to play the little sisters of the poor in the West.

Pups.

Carolina refers to North Carolina. Only you SC folks think otherwise but it's understandable.

These are the same folks that actually think "USC" refers to their school.

How would you abbreviate "University of South Carolina"?
