This is the type of crap that makes them look like fools. Cam callef all the plays in the 2nd quarter. Then Les actually sabotaged him in the 2nd half. There's an excuse for all his shifty plays, none are his fault, either the 1st round WRS dropped perfectly thrown passes or Les sabotaged him .

Most LSU fans aren't realistic. I will be. He isn't that good at all. He was 6-14 for 100 yards with an interception and a fumble lost against the worst defense LSU will play this season.

He badly under threw a check down pass in the flat and badly under threw 2 deep balls, one of which was intercepted and the other could have been. Half of his yards came on the TD pass to Desean Smith were no defender was within 10 yards of him. Another 15 came on a screen pass to Guice that traveled about 3 yards in the air. 90% of the people reading this sentence could have completed it.

But but but LSU receivers dropped a few passes. So did the Jacksonville St. cornerbacks. Even with all that said he's probably still a better option than Harris but the blind delusion is real. He's still the guy who was benched as the incumbent starter after game 5 of his sophomore year at Purdue for Austin Appleby (who was absolutely terrible and also transferred). It's as if Harris and his 5 TD's vs New Mexico St. then his subsequent start the next week at Auburn never happened.

Ahhh. The good ol tiger rant narrative taken as the gospel. Fact is y'all don't know who is calling any given play, because you're all just posters on a message board. To proclaim as fact with such absolute certainty that the play caller himself changed between halves, in an attempt to feel better about the second half performance (because that's exactly what that is) is the typical lsu rantard in a nutshell.

There was an argument in the locker room before 1/9.

He was holding the play card and yelling into his headset just before offensive play

It's comments like this that make me embarrassed for some of the LSU posters on here.

Here's the deal. We got excited because the offense did operate better under Etling in the 2nd Quarter. He looked poised, had good pocket awareness and ran the offense. In the 2nd half it might as well have been Harris in there looking at the stat line. But he will more than likely start against State and we'll get a better look.

Most rational LSU fans are at "wait and see" considering the opponent and that we're really only talking about one quarter of a sample size. Some more reactionary overzealous LSU fans would do well to remember this same thing happened in 2014 against New Mexico St. when Harris came in 2nd quarter for a struggling Jennings and had 6 straight TD drives. He started at Auburn the next week and we all know what happened there.

Well, who are you more likely to stack the box against? Harris & LF7 or Etling & LF7?

I doubt Florida, Auburn or Alabama will be drastically changing their defensive gameplan based on the emergence of Danny Etling.

Honestly, its just excitement at seeing a completed forward pass.

When he made a check down pass to a RB with touch I stood up and acted like we just made a touchdown.

We are starved for any kind of QB play, even if he didn't complete a pass in the second half.

Neither. Bama doesn't stack the box except inside your girlfriend.

No, he wasn't. Back of the pack in yards. Back of the pack in picks. Back of the pack in TDs.

It could have been caught. Did you play any football or did you play receiver? He's a back but you are taught to turn your shoulders and body to get both hands on the ball. It would have been a good catch but he kept running straight instead of turning his body.
