There was a ref right there.

You mean aside from his hand being all up in the facemask?

That is a KO stiff arm. He just crumpled. One of the best all year long, in college or pro's.

With penalties it always depends on what school the offender attends. Haven't you learned that yet?

I thought refs always went agains the SEC. I guess that's a myth...

In the SEC, only Bama gets away with that shite. Good thing you had OOC Refs.

Answered your own question.

Nope. Ref missed the call. Fairly blatant facemask.

This is my new response whenever a Sooner sends me that "77-0" pic.

Not sure it was a facemask. Didn't seem to be an grabbing, but more pushing with sheer strength. I could see an 'illegal hands to the face' penalty there. Is that even a penalty in college?

That's a facemask. He grabbed it and pushed him down with it.

That rarely is called a penalty, offensive players get by with this all the time.

That is a personal foul for facemasking. However, the refs let the ball carrier get away with it routinely. It is one of those things that frustrates me about the rules. I think any stiff arm to the face, regardless if he grabs the face mask or not, should be a penalty. If the defender would do the same to him, fifteen yards. An OL gets a penalty for putting his hands to a defensive player's face, but a ball carrier doesn't? Not logical.

No, hands to the face. Pretty sure a "facemask" penalty comes on a tackle, while "hands to the face" is any other contact with the facemask.
It rarely gets called, and when it does it typically involves offensive linemen.

No. Facemask penalty is for tackles or attempted tackles only. Hands to the face is for offensive players.

Yes but they never call facemask on the person with the ball.

At no point do you see the fingers grab the facemask. Offensive players can put their hands on the opponents facemask all they want.. until their fingers curl and grab.
