He would never admit to feeling that way, but anyone who thinks his behavior towards Saban and sometimes Meyer isn't indicative of his jealousy is fooling themselves.

Oh, there's definitely a jealous streak. But that's true of most people who rise to the top of their respective professions. They're intensely competitive with each other.

All those great athletes at UF and he never had an undefeated season and won just one title.

He went undefeated in 1995, he just had to play the greatest college football team of alltime. No shame in losing to 1995 Nebraska, hell its part of the Spurrier legend that he yelled at Osbourne not to take a knee and quit running out the clock cause the OBC's a gunslinger and doesn't accept mercy.

Additionally, Florida would have been undefeated in 1996 barring some of the most one-sided reffing of all-time (hitting the QB to the "echo of the whistle" as Bowden called it-- that shite would have gotten like FSU's entire team ejected now, and should have resulted in 150-200 yards in penalties even back then) and would have won a title (or at least played Miami close) in 2001 if 9-11 hadn't happened (it resulted in the re-scheduling of the UT game pushing it to after the FSU game in which, surprise, surprise another Bowden thug cheated, twisting Earnest Graham's knee in the pile and forcing him to miss the next week- Florida in 2001 dominated with a healthy Graham).

Saban never had to play what was the most consistently dominant program in the country (top 5 for 14 consecutive years-- Spurrier's entire time at UF) on top of an SEC schedule, throw FSU off Florida's slate and Spurrier probably wins 2 or 3 titles in the 90s and early 00s.

He's been in the SEC for 20+ years and has one NC to his name. If it weren't for his constant quips about other schools people would pity him like they did Bowden late in his game.

USCe was probably the second best team in the SEC last Season after Auburn (Bama might be close but I'd take USCe), they've actually gotten better late its not like they've fallen off ala Bowden.

fricking excuses.

You could additionally say that the SEC was a piece of shite in the 90s and the only teams he really had to worry about half the time were Tennessee and Alabama.

From the mid to late 90's, it doesn't appear that Florida State and Miami were even, so besides Florida, who else did perennial Top 5 Florida State play? Was the ACC stronger back then?

NC State, Virginia, Georgia Tech were all respectable ACC programs back in the 90s. The ACC in the 90s was overall a much stronger conference than it is right now.

And FSU was top 5 for 14 straight years. Does anyone remember how powerful FSU was in the 90s? Nebraska? Michigan? Penn State? Miami?

Overall, the 90s had much stronger top tier teams than CFB does right now. Right now, CFB has much more depth in terms of good teams, but the 90s was very strong at the top.

Something is becoming very apparent about you.

You're not really a Bama fan are you? Your a taterhead/suckeye conglomeration alter, amirite?

Nevermind, no need to answer. Obvious is obvious.

Anything to make sense of my posts right?
If I was a Clemson fan, why would I be criticizing them the way I have?

The team I support is irrelevant in most of my posts; that's called removing a source of bias.

I'm not a homer and don't look at everything solely from my team or coach's perspective; I'm smarter than that.

You seem disturbed; find peace.

Notice that I don't call out specific members.
I don't use ad hominem, namecalling, etc. to argue. That's all unnecessary.

Spurrier is a great coach and hit jabs at other schools makes him even better.

OBC rustled some bammer jimmies obviously. Most here are too young to remember UF prior to Spurrier's arrival as head coach. They always had the best talent, but always found a way to lose. Dickey, Pell, Hall, etc. Spurrier changed that and made UF a team to fear.
Now he has done the same thing at USCe. It is about elevating programs to points they have never been before with him, not NC.
Point of reference for you bammies -- could CNS do as well at Miss State? Could he take UK and make them a feared opponent every week?
