The NIL /transfer portal stuff sucks for sure and it will have lasting impacts on the game. But I'll deal with it for now. It will self implode on it's own.

But the NFL/NBA can suck a big one. I haven't watched since they went full commie.

[

It's not a matter of having different political beliefs as I've come to believe both sides are scum. It's a matter of them cramming their agenda down my throat when all I wanted to do was watch sports.

I like to believe I still have some integrity left, and I refuse to give them ratings for the woke bullshite.

Some colleges have dipped their toes in the water. Hopefully they don't go full retard.

If the Vols shutdown their program.

I could get made for a bit and slow down my involvement and have in the past. Hell I stopped following the nfl, nba, and mlb over the last decade. MLB and NFL were over strikes/lockouts, so if college kids went on strike I could see that stopping my support. NBA just is so far removed from the game I grew up with it’s unwatchable.

I could see a time when I leave the US for a more permanent solution in a developing country and could be content following a couple rugby leagues and supporting a regional cricket club.

Already happened for me. Saturdays used to be sacred to me. Fortunately I have a huge lake behind my house within 100 yards. So I’ll watch the Dawgs and a few big games but ultimately I don’t care anymore. Then go fishing. It’s lost its luster. And I don’t know how it will ever get it back. I’m happy the Dawgs win 2 ina row and I got to see one of them in person though. Crappie are biting. But that won’t last through any football season so, yeah, I’ll be watching it again lol. Damn you! You a psychologist or some shite?

Only reason I said that is because you got the exact response I feel about it, but I bet a lot of people feel the way I do.

While I don't have a lake in my backyard, I feel exactly the same. My days of avid fandom are coming to a close. I am now in that generation that hates change

I'm almost there..before all this madness started I

1. Followed recruiting passionately
2. Checked in on spring practice updates
3. Would drive to the. Spring game
4. Would watch coach/player interviews
5. Couldnt wait for cfb Saturdays

Now I just wait til August 15 too peruse the the roster and start paying attention. And I just assume every kid on the team doesn't actually care one bit about the school they represent.

This, I used to buy Athlon ncaa and Athlon SEC separately to get 2 different perspectives. I would follow spring practice and have a good idea of the online depth chart from just reading interviews. I was very passionate about it. Now noone on that team gives a shite so It just breaks down slowly after a while. We had a 3 year starter, whom was going to start again next year enter the transfer portal and commit to ole miss, then leave ole miss a few weeks later before spring practice started and transfer to Louisville for spring practice and now he is in the transfer portal again. This is fricking stupid.

I lost that loving feeling back in 2021. When a coach can't discipline players any longer without fear of them leaving by sundown, then I can live without the game. Sorry for all you good young folks that will miss the experience of true college football.

This lady told you the truth, but you dislike because of her last name.

At Tuesday's U.S. Senate hearing regarding college sports, he shared that his wife, Terry Saban, made him realize that the recruits weren't bothered about development. “She said, 'All [the players] care about is how much you're going to pay them," Saban said. "They don't care about how you're going to develop them, which is what we’ve always done.

Unlimited eligibility is probably the line. Who knows tho

Every step towards employment is a step towards removing the eligibility cap out of high school.

And it is inevitable what will happen.
Someone will be smart enough to start an amateur league.
And college alumni are going to watch the new product without the minor league players.
And then TV will get involved.
And the minor leagues will fold.

Is there any scenario you won’t watch CFB

If it comes to the point where I never recognize our teams roster from one year to the next, that would probably do it. I enjoy watching players progress during their time at Bama. If everyone just transfers (in and out) because of NIL deals then I don't see the point anymore.

They also came close to losing me during the BLM stuff, but I never saw anyone kneeling for the anthem so we barely skirted that issue. If it turns into a big anti-America fest, like the NFL and NBA, I'm out.

Stopped watching NFL 30 years ago. Saturdays used to revolve around CFB. No more. With every year I become less interested. NIL, changing teams when you don't get the snaps you think you deserve, opting out for bowl games. Saban's wife was 100% correct in asking him, "Why are we doing this, because it's not about team and making them part of our family anymore?"

I no longer plan my falls around football.

If it’s raining, I’ll watch. Night games, I’ll watch.

I use to build every Saturday around it, but now I start with my tee time.

pretty much me now. i do have tickets, and give about half the games away to kids or friends. i choose which games i want to go to. i'll golf in the fall mid morning, and watch whatever when i get home. but the days of planning around a game (unless of course i'm going), are long gone. used to love watching any big SEC matchup.

I stopped watching “college football” in 2004.

When Auburn went undefeated and was not about to play for a national championship - it ended my interest in the sport as a whole.

It did not change my interest in Auburn games. I still attend most of them in person and watch Auburn play on TV.

But the rest of the games - I never watch. I don’t watch highlights of other games.

The only information I know about SEC football is what I read here. For instance: I still have not seen the actual footage of the LSU-Florida show throwing incident. I saw a few gifs but that is it.

Two SEC teams could play for the national championship and have 4 overtime’s and I would not even have it on TV.

I am not angry - just indifferent.

I've watched a whole lot less the last few years. Mercenary system with 1-year players is not much fun. Hard to build an identity around that. Hard to maintain a brand.

If that continues I'll continue to watch the big games but I've got better things to do on Saturdays anyway.

Then in fact, you have seen actual footage of the LSU-Florida shoe throwing incident.

Or did you want to see actual filmstrip?

My emotional attachment is fading and I can sense it in others.

CFB is dying with a whimper, not a bang.

I'll watch my team and big games and that is it. Don't follow recruiting anymore. It really is a good thing. The fall is beautiful in the south and made for getting out doors.

This is where I'm at. Faced with watching 3 hours of mostly commercials or taking my boat out to the beach or a few hours up to some mountains, the choice is becoming increasingly easier.
