Is there going to be some judgment day when the football days end and we all get to be judged at the pearly goal post of football heaven? Who gives a frick what random people over the internet think about your fandom. This thread is full of self righteous assholes. I have family that attended Alabama but I didn't because I had other opportunities. My grandfather took me to 3-5 games a year until he got too old. I miss those days...

I don't have a problem with rooting for a school you didn't go to most of the time if you are from there, it's just annoying the people (mostly girls when I was in high school) that rooted for Alabama when they've never been there. They can't name one player...I guess some people root against the state team to be different? I know a girl who wears LSU gear all of the time and always says "Geaux Tigers" on Facebook. She is originally from Louisiana so it doesn't bother me, but she doesn't watch the games and just wanted to tailgate when I invited her to the Arkansas-LSU game this year. I guess you can just be a fan of the school and not follow the sports teams but it was still weird to me. I'm sure there are people like with all SEC teams too.

I grew up a big Hog fan and my parents are too, but I went to an FCS school (UCA). I live in Fayetteville now but I support both and my girlfriend is in grad school at Arkansas. I watched or went to every game of the two this year. I don't think there's anything wrong with that but the big time UCA fans can't stand it, which I can understand too.

I agree with you. I will put up my fandom against anyone. Especially those who rode the coat tails of their dad's money that bought them their "education." Most of those who attended benefited from a parent(s) who never attended college - are their parents not a fan?

I think for most people it really only becomes an issue when the real idiots try to parade the athletic successes of 18-23 year olds as validation that they are better than someone else.

Exactly.
