Is there an official in the SEC that knows the rules?

Watching the Auburn vs Miss St game Saturday and saw an officiating first. Two post play fouls on the same team and BOTH were assessed. I've watched thousands of football games over the decades and when two fouls are committed by the same team on any given play, the more egregious penalty is accepted and the lesser one is declined. Simple, right? Apparently not to the game police in Starkville Saturday. They decided that on this particular play, they would enforce each and every violation, which in this case was TWO unsportsman like pemalties on Mississippi St. Fact is, the rules of football have become so convoluted that you can't really expect officials to call games consistently. They have to make the rules up as they go.

I don't think that applies to dead ball fouls. Those were both dead ball fouls.

Tell me your team affiliation so I can tell you whether you're an idiot or not

you talking about when the MSU D player hit our kicker?

Ya happened to Auburn against Alabama when they Muschamp.
Dead ball late hit out of bounds or something, Muschamp flips out on the ref and gets another penalty - both assessed and the ball moved forward 30 yards - REC doing work, checks cleared, etc.

Was it for the same thing? You can accept a personal foul for two different things (I.e. Late hit and unsportsmanlike conduct).
Do you remember when UGA kicked off from the 7 (or wherever it was) against UF after the celebration penalties? We had one penalty for excessive celebration, and another for taunting. Unfortunately it was the right decision from the refs.

God there were more flags thrown yesterday during the SC vs UGA game than I've seen in a while. It was ridiculous.

Not sour grapes but I can't believe they didn't hit #12 for A&M with a penalty for his hit on Evan Berry. He caught Berry in the facemask with the crown of his helmet.
That guy had me so rtfu

No. I'm talking about an Auburn fumble (that really wasn't a fumble) recovered by Miss St. with a throat slashing gesture to follow. I'm not sure what the second unsportsman penalty was.

OP doesn't know the difference between live ball and dead ball fouls.

bmy knows all the rules.
He should be a referee at all big SEC games, IMO.

Sure, I know the difference, not that it's relevant to this discussion.
