That's incredible for an individual much less an entire team

ETA: Only 2 players in MLB history had an OPS over 1.110 for their careers

What about scoring 17 runs a game? Do yall think if A&M continues to do that, there is a chance we win a few games?

No. You'll likely need to score 27 runs a game, arse hat.

Damn. I figured since we're averaging more per game than USCe(football) did in conference this past year, it'd be enough.

Dang, Cannizaro's approach at the plate must be a bit different at MSU than it was at LSU. 34 strikeouts in 137 AB, yikes. LSU only had 6 in 85 AB by comparison

To be fair, State played Texas Tech twice with a lineup of first timers and LSU played service academies.

Take both those games out and still struck out twice as many times as we did all weekend in 2 games against Western Illinois.

Wow, that's nuts. They did play 11 in one of those games, but still.

Is an 1.110 good for a team OPS?

So maybe there was a Bowling Green massacre after all?

We had a very low strikeout rate last year under Cannizaro, that's why I was surprised to see 34 SO's in 137 AB. I mean that's 1 out of every 4 AB being a strikeout. Last year we were around 13-14%.

We pitched 2 shutouts this weekend and we're still only 3rd in the SEC

South Carolina gave up one earned run all weekend and went 2-1. They were pissed and I would be too.

Bowling Green is a very average team. We get a test this weekend when Pepperdine comes to town for 3.

For A&M, everyone is raving about true freshman Braden Shewmake.

It was good to see the young'un live up to the hype. For me the question is what to do with FR Jorge Gutierrez. 2 HR and a triple for a non-starter? WTH? Roster lists him as INF/C, but I can't see him replacing Coleman or (fortunately for us) any of the infielders unless it is Joel Davis, but that seems unlikely. Is Kopetsky in RF hearing footsteps? Maybe JG just plays DH, but we have enough hot bats among the freshmen that I'm not sure about that move, either.

On the other hand, Bowling Green was pretty damn bad and we may need to pump the brakes. Pepperdine is a much better test.
