Say what you will about Tubs but they were consistently a threat under him.

I'm not trying to be a dick but since I've started following LSU and CFB it seems you guys are always on the extreme part of the spectrum. You guys didnt win a conference game a few years ago then turned around a national title run.

And yet never made the title game in all of his years. Meanwhile in 3 seasons for each of the coaches after him, each coach has already made the title game.

I for one will always want the roller coaster coach over the consistent under the hump coach.

The highs make the lows somewhat worth it.
I would choose the hills and valleys over any irrelevant run that teams like MS.St may have had throughout history. Dan Mullen can be happy about 3 out of 4 against bad Auburn teams but the little dark secret remains that MS.St has been irrelevant in the end result SEC title picture since before US troops entered WW2, and have never been relevant on a national scale save for a few odd weeks sprinkled here and there throughout the 115 year history of organized cfb.
Holy run on sentence.
