no offense to Mullen or the Grinders but he is not the answer we need. We need a hard arse, defensive minded head coach who can recruit.

You sound like you want to change style to that of Bama and LSU. If you do, I don't think you'll be able to keep up in recruiting.
I think Arky needs to go with an offensive mastermind as the head coach and then drop some more cash getting a top notch DC.

I have it on good authority that Ron Zook is available 
somehow I dont see it as a "cultural match".
Charlie Strong would be good hire...screw the pass 45+ a game crap...you need to run power football and Im so glad we have Boom and the spread crap went north. Strong can flat out recruit, but his clock is ticking...he will need to make move soon before the recruiting trail gets tougher. Arkies have a hard time recruiting the beef needed to power run and stop the run. Strong could get you the recruits. He does have white wife and hopefully that wouldnt deter the power brokers at Arkie. Just make sure the confedrate flags are put away in admins offices
