Yep..it doesn't rank at or near the top every year because we "play all of our tough games at 2:30"

Gumps are going to try to downplay all of this, though..It's expected with a fanbase as pompous as theirs

Not when it comes to stadium history and game atmosphere. Hence, his jealousy. In his defense, it's a natural reaction.

Takes a Gump to know a myth....very similar to that whole 14 NC's thing.

These threads are always hilarious.

The painfully stupid or trolling Bama fans actually elicit responses.

Disclaimer... The OP is largely true, but 90% of the bama fans that have followed are imbeciles.

Something you redneck backwards arse gumps see only at the local bar. Just because 90% of the state of Alabama live in trailer parks doesn't mean the rest of the country does Forrest.

Tiger Stadium is only tough at night until LSU gets behind. Unless LSU keeps it close at the half, there is no way those drunk idiots stay around and influence the second half of the game.

Maybe what I am really asking is what is Lsu's record in homes games under Miles in that 2:30 time slot? These games would more accurately reflect how much of a home field advantage you have in TS.

Les has an excellent record at LSU, period. Better than any predecessor in terms of winning games over a stretch of time. Only coach to defeat the big 4 in a single season, first coach to win 12 regular season games, on and on. His goofiness and eccentric speaking style/mannerisms make people think he is not all there (shades of Earl Long), but I assure you that all of those things that generate an 80%+ winning record - anywhere, USC, Bama, Texas, Miami, Oklahoma, ND, ANYWHERE, do...not....just....happen.

I certainly respect and admire the LSU program under Les Miles. I have been to a Bama v. Lsu game atTiger Stadium at night and have witnessed a college football fanbase that is both passionate and unique. There is no doubt that it is one of the most raucous scenes associated with collegiate sports. This question is not a flame but an honest inquiry.

LSU has some ridiculous record of only 1 loss in TS at night under Miles. Is this phenomenal record due as much to the CBS contract (first pick of SEC games, 2:30 kick) as it is to the Myth of the Bayou Bengals' invincibility when playing a night game in TS?

The games against the highest ranked teams would almost always be played at 2:30 on CBS. This is kind of like the patsies Bama used to play at BDS when they still played their biggest games in Bham.

Bama's great record in BDS back in the day was due far more to the lower tier opponent than some home field advantage in Tuscaloosa. Can the same be said for the night game at TS scenario?

LSU week bump.

I think the Tigers draw energy from the nightime crowd and play better ball, but the record is due partly to myth, as the most competitive games are scheduled at 2:30.
