I understand programs are cyclical, but the West has been so much better than the East for a long time, and that has continued yet again.

East is 1-7 vs West right now and if you're projecting, I'd say 2-12 is the outcome. Remaining matchups-

Florida vs Arky and LSU. Florida beats Arky.
Georgia vs Auburn - AU
Vandy vs Ole Miss and Auburn - Vandy loses both
Missouri vs Arky - Arky

That's very realistic and 2-12 is the outcome. Even acknowledging Georgia and Tenn being down, if you were looking at overall football programs in tiers, it heavily favors the west

Tier 1- Bama
Tier 2 - UF, UGA, Tenn, LSU, Aub
Tier 3 - A&M, Arky
Tier 4 - Ole Miss, MSU, Missouri
Tier 5 - USCe, Vandy, UK

I think the East has 4 of the worst 5 programs in the SEC, and when that is over half your division then there is a problem.

Yes.

The west wouldn't look so hot right now without Saban.

Do Alabama fans worry about the East as much as the other SEC West team fans?

This.

I mean honestly, this same statement could have been made about the West.

Florida, Georgia, Tenn. All of these teams have the potential to be powerhouses again in the near future. However, I think the bottom might even get worse. Mizzou, Vandy, SC. Hell if KY does too well, they lose all their coaching staff.

Yes. Move Auburn to the East and Missouri to the west. That would be a big help for starters.

Meh, you had Florida and UT, in all honesty, as the only true powers when the east was "dominating". Georgia was.....ok. Everybody else sucked. Now, Florida and UT were dominant but the east as a whole did not dominate the west during that time.
This whole east dominant thing of the 90's is kinda skewed.

Na man the east blows.

Expect Florida trying everything they can to change that.

Reminds me of the 90s.

That was 20 years ago. A lot has changed since then. I'm not saying the East will never have a better year than the West. But looking at overall programs, I'd say the West will be the better division roughly 80% of the time going forward.

Where in the OP did you see any "worry"? This is an SEC forum, it seems like an appropriate discussion topic

It seems to be cyclical and even though the East was the better division in the 90s Auburn, Alabama, and a down LSU still beat the beast that was Florida. At least the best from the West could field mostly competitive teams that could at least stand up to UT and UF. What the east is offering up right now is not competitive. You could easily argue that 6 of the 7 West schools would win the East.

Take us out of Tier 5. We are about to be a threat. Great freshmen QB, RB, and WRs. The rest of our best players are soph. Boom and Bentsiah about to take over the east. It really isn't that hard to see if you open your eyes. Boom will have an offense.
