How so?

I think wisconsin, tOSU, and Michigan are all benefiting from tough OOC games. OU is even crawling back into the conversation as if their 2 OOC losses were not a huge issue. Clemson just lost at home to an unranked Pitt late in the year while not having been dominant all yr and the polls barely reflect much change. I'd bet their road win against what has proven to be a good auburn team has given them a bit of a boost.

UDUB and Louisville on the other hand don't have big OOC games and they continue to fall to the rear of teams with like or sometimes worse records.

Which teams would those be? There is one zero loss power 5 team. Everybody else has at least one loss. Who should take the place of one loss Ohio State, Michigan, Clemson, Louisville, and Washington?

The other one loss power 5 team is:

West Virginia

I think that is it.

People keep saying the one loss teams are not being punished for losing, but who are you going to put in front of them? Two loss teams? Wouldn't those teams then be getting a pass for their losses. Your argument doesn't make much sense. I think they have it pretty close to the combination of best teams/most deserving teams right now. The Big 10 is good this year.

Certain teams who played for 9 weeks without losing will not fall out of the top 4 because they lost 1 game.

LSU has three losses, get over it.

The top 6 is correct. The order is pretty stupid IMO, but it's correct. Clemson should be 2nd or 3rd.

people just don't get it. the system is rigged. it's called money. they are not looking for the four best teams in the country; they are looking for TV audiences and regional parity of sorts. they may have to "settle" but if they can achieve their "max the revenue" goal they will do it. it's highly unlikely there will be two teams from the same conference.

LSU is probably better than their rank but let's not get into the top 4 conversations.
They've beaten
JSU
Mizzou
Ole Miss
State
Arkie
etc
These are not good teams by any stretch. Well, JSU but that in FCS.

They've played one really stout team and lost. The Auburn loss looks even uglier now and Wiscy is a good team, they would not hang with Bama though. Even State hung with LSU pretty good and they have NOTHING. That is an awful team.
If LSU was playing OSU or Michigan they would be pretty decided underdogs.

Ohio St also clobbered Nebraska.

Nebraska's "quality" win was against Oregon (currently 3-7, 1-6) in the PAC

Cornhuskers schedule this year looks much like the powder puff schedule Iowa had last year.

Nebraska beat
Purdue = last place in West
Illinois = next to last in West
Northwestern = 3 worst in the West

In the East they get Indiana and Maryland

Nebraska has a good record but a terrible schedule

Michigan also beat Colorado

Michigan got Colorado (whom I am still not sure is good, despite W-L record) and their first five games at home. Badgers should have beaten them in the Big House but lost by a TD. This is Michigan's road schedule this year

4 freaking road games and only 1 is a reasonable challenge
@ Rutgers - Pretty sure they have yet to win a conference game this year
@ Michigan State - Sparty is way down but still close game 23-32
@ Iowa - lost
@ Ohio State

I will give Wisconsin the benefit of the doubt for at least playing the toughest OOC game in the B1G this season. They at least beat Iowa on the road, which Michigan could not. Penn State was on the road with one of its oldest rivals playing Pittsburgh, who just beat Clemson @ Clemson. Pittsburgh probably wins the Oklahoma State game without the weather delay. 1 pt loss to UNC and 3pt loss to VT and 6-4 could easily be 8-2.

The "B1G is the best conference" this season is crap. The B1G has 4 schools that are good as you point out is the better argument. Clearly Bama is #1 but I would possibly put the ACC (top to bottom) behind the SEC. I would give LSU the nod on a neutral field against any of the "B1G 4". I would put Auburn as favored against any of the "B1G 4" on a neutral field.

To be the best conference in college football means being best from top to bottom and the SEC and ACC seem to fill this bill better than the B1G. PAC is in bizzaro world as the top schools are down and the crap schools are up so hard to tell what the real truth is. Big 12 is fast becoming the western AAC with Texas down and Oklahoma looking good but getting curb stomped come CFP time.

According to the computer composite rankings they are.

BIG is either rich or poor, very little middle class.

SEC is almost all middle class.

LSU can't even score points against a top 6 team, let alone beat one

Come on. The East is probably the worst division of any power 5 conference. The West essentially has 3 schools whose QB is done for the year and Mississippi State. The SEC isn't good this year. I'd take both the ACC and the B1G over the SEC. Alabama is the only team propping up the SEC.

No, L6u would lose to all of the top 6.

The games wouldn't be at Baton Rouge, at night and etc like the Bama game.

Bama played down to L6u and had a pretty dismal offensive game. The turnovers were gifted on L6us side of the 50 and nothing. Should've been about a 20 point loss for L6u.

Would not be close if played again on a neutral field

What I think they are setting up here is a Final 4 with 2 B1G team if the final spread between OSU and Michigan is 7 or less.

I mean hell they would only be screwing Louisville and Washington/Clemson....who the hell cares about those teams.

While I will agree the SEC is down, I still say they win the majority of the bowls at season's end

Folks said the same thing last season, and how did that turn out for the SEC in the bowls?

Which part of "playing like they did against Alabama"? The part where they couldn't find the endzone with a seeing-eye dog?

From what I've gathered, the committee is trying to put the teams in the top four that will be able to compete with Alabama. The only team that I think can give Alabama a good game would be Ohio State. After watching Clemson take down Louisville I think Alabama would dominate a game against Louisville. As much as Clemson struggled with their schedule I think the tide would dominate that game as well. I'm unsure of Michigan but I don't think they match up well with Alabama's athletes. So yeah, I think they have a agenda.

DING DING DING

Winner . Winner . Chicken . Dinner

The CFP was a direct response to the SEC dominance in the BCS model. i stated on here several times the CFP would never have 2 SEC schools but in the 1st decade we would see 2 B1G schools. Here we are in year 3 of the CFP and they have been pushing Ohio State and Michigan as 2 of the 4 in the CFP from the pre season.

Not one to defend Taters or Line Beards but they deserve a shot before a 2nd B1G team. The bottom 8 to 10 teams of the B1G still suck balls and to act like they don't is to be under the spell of the B1G marketing machine. SEC east may be down but I would still say the bottom half of the SEC would beat the bottom half of the B1G like 7-0 or 6-1.

Here is a sample match up of bottom ten

(3-3) Tennessee vs (5-2) Nebraska
(4-4) Georgia vs (4-3) Minnesota
(4-4) Kentucky vs (4-3) Iowa
(4-3) Texas A&M vs (4-3) Northwestern
(3-5) South Carolina vs (3-4) Indiana
(2-4) Arkansas vs (2-5) Maryland
(2-4) Ole Miss vs (2-5) Illinois
(2-4) Mississippi State vs (1-6) Michigan State
(1-5) Vanderbilt vs (1-6) Purdue
(1-5) Missouri vs (0-7) Rutgers
