Not just NO, but HELL NO.

If not for 4 other teams beating themselves, the Vols would be 0-5 right now.

Enjoy your luck.

It's not.

But when 2 of your 5 wins have to come down to the last play how does that make you the best team with only 1 loss? I'm sure there are 1 loss teams that haven't had 2 games come down to essentially a coin flip. And let's not pretend App State and UGA are powerhouses like others have not had to play.

We are also a fumble away from being 6-0 if you want to play a game of hypothetical scenarios

Yes you are.

Sorry you are mad that my opinion is that i can't decide if you are the best 1 loss team in country or not.
Based off the fact that you had to fight for your life to come out with a W against average App state and UGA teams.

I am not arguing that UT is the best 1 loss team. I don't give a shite about that. It is disingenuous at best to say UT has been lucky. Have VOLS looked like hammered dog shite at times? Absolutely. Have they found a way to win 5/6? Yes, which is all that really matters. Good teams find a way to win games and make their own 'luck'.

You say "if you want to play a game of hypothetical scenarios."

I'm not just playing a game of hypothetical scenarios. You are in fact 5-1, and you also did in fact have to win 2 of your 5 wins on the last play of the game against subpar teams. I don't see how that makes you the best team with 5 wins

well that is literally the title of this thread. And what I was responding to

quote:

Alright man.

A 50 yard Hail Mary to end the game is not lucky, or "fortunate" if you want.

Fumbling into the endzone in OT and another teammate recovering it to win the game is not lucky either, or "fortunate" if you want.

It's obviously your team and you are offended. Try imagining any other team winning on these plays against mediocre teams and thinking "damn that's a great team."

Look I think Tennessee is good. I was rooting for them against A&M who is also a good team. I simply answered the question asked in this thread.

More on Tennessee:

They almost lost to an Ohio team that barely beat a Bowling Green team that had lost to Memphis by 70 points.

They almost lost to a Georgia team that was down 45-0 to Ole Miss before OM put in the walk-ons.

They almost lost to an App State team that almost lost to a crappy Akron team that lost to Wisconsin by 44 points.

The jury is still out on Virginia Tech. It looks like they somehow drew the easiest possible ACC schedule this year so their record will stay inflated.

So all of Tennessee's lucky barely "wins" involve teams that are not too far removed from getting really blown out or almost lost to teams that have been hugely blown out.

Weird. I thought you were responding to my post.

There were a lot of plays leading up to that, but keep being focusing on one play.

Tennessee is not lucky. There is no such thang.

What Tennessee has been this year is a something that has existed here and there forever. Their talent level is so rich that they realize how rich they be. They're like Richie Rich rich. They knew this last year, and the year before.

When you're that rich you be spoiled. For being spoiled is what one wants to be.

They've spent this entire year practicing at, and playing at, 85% until they've been forced to prove their place.

I've seen this before.

It isn't a new thing. It's a BAD thing granted, but it isn't a new thing. It was happening in the 1920's believe this or no. POTENTIAL is a dirty word and it makes 20 year-olds act crazy.

i responded to OP when I mentioned luck. I then responded to your response to me in regards to that

quote:

Yes, and all of those resulted in you being down against a mediocre UGA. I'm actually focusing on the whole game, not a play that was literally named after a prayer.

No Louisville, and even though they have 2 losses Ole Miss. UT is more like the most lucky to have only 1 loss this year team so far.
