Why is that funny? Players are part of the game. Paying a coach to sit and watch for signals is not. I don't care what team is doing it.

If you relay your plays in from big signs in the sideline, don't be mad if someone figures out what they mean.
Absolutely.
It sucks... but if it's that easily exploitable, people are going to do it. If people are going to do it, then you have to do it to keep competitive advantages level. Which balances things out.

Have heard those boards are just formations. Not the play.

It's not just hurry up teams that send in plays using signals from the sidelines. If you think I am wrong, just watch UGA and bama. There are hand signs used also.

Oh I know teams use sidelines but the hurry up teams that use the big boards a la Oregon would be easier to pick up on I would think.

Not sure about Auburn, but the Oregon boards are just formations. I noticed Auburn using hand signals from sideline and the big boards.

That would make sense since they usually line up and look to the sideline to change the play if needed.

You obviously never played baseball. There are 20 sets of eyes, including coaches, trying to pick up where the signs to the batter are coming from and what those signs are. They are also watching the opposing pitcher to see if he is tipping his pitches. Trying to gain a competitive advantage is a part of every single sport since the beginning of time. It's not cheating in any form or fashion.

it's a little shady imo but it happens whatever.

Those signs you see are just for the formation. The play call is coming in from hand signals, or a number system, just like in every other O run.

Well, when another team hires a person that previously worked at another program, and puts him in the team box with binoculars to watch the coaches... Yes, that's cheating. But what else is new with the cheating team

Played three years at Jacksonville State University. Was a catcher. Coach Abbott did not care for it either.

I remember Grantham always having a towel boy cover his body when he was signaling plays

Ole Miss knew he went to a rival team, so they should have changed the signals. This would be a serious question only among tards on the internet.
How could you really prove it in most cases anyway? Kansas State had fewer yards in the second half after changing their signals which would indicate Auburn was likely never stealing their signals to begin with

They need to equip QB's with NFL technology where the coach can talk to the QB. That would solve it.
