Is SEC network just a good idea?

Am I the only one that thinks the concept of an all SEC network will be better than the actual thing? I mean if it's not showing LSU at the time I'm probably not watching the channel. With the Finebaum show being 4 hours a day that's basically the Bama/Auburn screaming incestuous family show for a good part of the day. Then to have Finebaum on the SEC version of gameday you just have more Bama/auburn slant so I'll be watching regular gameday instead. I have no plan to give up Directv if they don't have SEC Network .

I'm keeping my DTV and going to a buddies to watch SECn if I must. Direct is by far the best TV service I've ever had.

I agree with you. Outside of the money it's bringing in to OM I couldn't care less about any of the programming other than OM games.

I honestly don't see whats the big deal about the SEC network. Why would I pay money to see things like Florida play Ole Miss in women's golf 24/7? It's not like they'll be showing the big football and basketball games on the network. Just seems like a money grabbing ploy to me.

If it is like the Big Ten network, it will make it so that every SEC football and almost every basketball game on TV.
Also, other minor sports will be more available for viewing.
Hopefully, Directv will add this.

I don't think it matters for me, as comcast isn't carrying it anyway

Finebaum actually has callers from around the nation talking about all aspects of sports. They touch on a lot of controversial topics. Give it a chance, you might enjoy it.

Finebaum is an idiot. He rambles on way to damn much and half the time you can't understand the callers. Don't like his show and will watch regular game day as long as he is on SECN version

The SEC network will add over $1 to your TV bill every month.
Might as well enjoy it.

ACtually, I think it will be fun to be able to watch UGA being crappy at basketball in addition to real time gymnastics meets and equestrian shows. Also think the recruiting coverage could have a chance to get interesting.

The Network is going to have lot of SEC programming directed at everyone, like their SEC Nation show plus their Sports Center SEC focused show with highlights and interviews and analysis.
As far as team specific content goes, a lot of that is dependant on how much inventory each program provides. That's up to them.
I for one am looking forward to watching conference tournaments in all sports. Plus we're going to get practically every football game and basketball game and a lot more baseball, women's basketball, golf, etc. I'm interested in all that stuff on one level or another.

Can't wait to see Miss State play Georgia in basketball. Or UK play anyone in football. Sounds exciting.

Have any of the cable/satellite providers said to what package they are adding the channel?

The B1G network is in a pretty standard Uverse package, however we are not in their prime area here in Alabama, thus a low price for me. Like 20 cents.

That's what I'm looking forward to the most...the shows that talk about SEC sports and showing highlights, interviews, campus tours, etc.
ETA: Also looking forward to some of the replays of old games from the 70's-80's.
