Yes. I'm sure Ole Miss will be an all black school by year 2200. But sorry, THIS mascot voting won't change the nickname rebels.

Don't give up on Admiral Ackbar yet Ole Miss. George Lucas turned you down last time but he doesn't own the rights to him anymore. Disney does. Only problem with Disney though is they hate you. Don't let that stop you from making another attempt for Ackbar though. He is a brilliant idea for a mascot can't lie. It'd be pretty sweet to see the entire student body dressed as stormtroopers. (who cares that's the empire force not the rebel force)

Unless there is a national turn around of behavior away from eliminating any reminder of the Civil War, the Rebel mascot or nickname is on borrowed time. I could care less what your pathetic university calls yourself, but the name Rebels and even "Ole Miss" are going to be changed. The school will be know as The University of Mississippi and Ole Miss will be considered an offensive term.

you are giving the OM student body way too much credit. It was a stupid unfortunate choice of a mascot. There was no troll job being done.
