OM's little two game winning streak against us left me hopeful for a competitive series's in the SEC. **sigh**. I guess that it'll just have to be the TSIO again. Unless Butch goes all Butch.

He probably will.

All the inflated hope is so delicious. Your tears after realizing nothing happens will be even more delicious.

Again I am seeing posts from OM posters mentioning scholarship reductions. This for five secondary violations? I didn't know that happened for secondary violations.

Some of current staff including Freeze are on second stints at OM. Current staff is involved.

Former OM employee Saunders found to have been involved in faking ACT scores.

Lied about players getting free cars, large amounts in prepaid gift cards, and laugh off the Red Lobster.

NCAA pissed about getting lied to.

Freeze was at Ole Miss from 2005-2007. Which isn't being investigated. Secondary violations happened within the past couple years. But I can assure you that we aren't the only team with secondary violations. And when Saunders was here back in 2010 the ACT thing happened. Nutt and Boone fired Saunders and did report it. Investigations went on about that up to this point. And I will say I have knowledge in this because I did work for the University media at that time and was around all that mess. Ole Miss also self reported women's basketball. They fired the coach on the spot. But that was so bad that there was no way that's was getting away. But at least Ole Miss self reported it. The investigation into track and field and the 2010 football season has been going on for a while. I knew it was a matter of time for women's basketball and track. It was a mess working that media nightmare.

Bjork fired the track and field coach as well as the WBB coach when he found out what they were doing. If Ole Miss football was getting the hammer, he wouldn't be giving Freeze an extension and giving every staffer a pay raise.

No one at OM cares about those sports or coaches -- easy fires and easy to replace.

Football, OTOH, is different. Bjork will do everything in his power to protect, reward, and keep Freeze coaching at OM regardless of whether or not there's a hammer. In fact, Bjork would do well to keep Freeze there especially if there's a hammer as he's the best coach you've had since the Civil Rights Era.

.

The NCAA doesn't do this number.
You either walk or they take 30. YOu are either penalized none or you suffer for years. No in between.

I have no real inside information, but here are some thoughts based on gut feeling and knowing how the NCAA works:

- The NCAA does not have anything big on OM football, but they know, like the rest of us, that they are cheating and they are not a traditional power, so that is a problem...mainly cheating with cash that cannot be traced;
- Since they have only small stuff, and are pissed they cannot get the big stuff, they leaked the notice to Forde on the eve of the biggest recruiting weekend of the year to try to indirectly affect OMs recruiting (i.e., desperation move on their part); and
- I predict that even though the allegations are weak and happened with another staff for the most part, the NCAA actually doles out a relatively large punishment and an extended zero tolerance probation (something like a one year bowl ban and losing 6 schollies over 4 years with four or more years of probation for football alone).

I just have a feeling the NCAA is going to exceed the allegations in what they administer as punishment out of spite.

If tRant has taught me anything, it is that you never apologize when it becomes clear you were wrong. In fact, I recommend you double down on everything you have said.

Neither was LSU until Saban. Sometimes the right coach is what is needed.

But screw logic for now, lets just keep this going. It is quite entertaining.

I think that's really shitty for Dodd to throw out an article like that about Cecil Newton.
